I live in a relatively rich county in Maryland called Howard County and i am working on a paper for class. We have a big problem of young men and women from ages 14-20 (KIDS) trading sex for prescription drugs and MDMA. Oxycodone seems to be the most popular in the school system, we have football players getting caught in the locker room doing god knows what to each other and 17 teen year old mothers all for what. We have had more expulsions and suspensions i have seen in my 3 and a half years in school. College kids bring in or kids steal from there parents i had no idea they can have this effect on people it is an every day thing Fridays are the worst. Is this a problem in other areas of the country? If at all possible anyone on this forum ever do anything like this maybe they could share that would be great. I have found a lot of articles about doctors and dentists trading sex for prescription drugs but very few on my topic. Unfortunately I was given this topic and I am lost any help would be great thanks. Sorry for the rambling i am truly lost on this subject and i cant switch, and how do i ask other students without getting a F-OFF.

I really doubt anyone is trading sex for drugs at your school, on a large scale. Hookers in the hood, yeah. Your average high school student? No.

Being forced into writing a paper about something you can't find information on is the beginning of a horrible journalist.. Kids getting high is already enough of a story, there is no need to sensationalize it even more with the whole "sex and drugs!" type scandal. Really, it's outdated and pretty fucking tiring.

Do some real reporting. Leave this shit in the dust. Your teacher, and anyone reading your article, will be much more pleased with the results.

Extremely rare. Students aren't trading sex for drugs. Why is that? Because at that age few have developed addictions that intense, if at all. Some have, no doubt, but they're rare, and they're the ones you hear about.

I love that line about football players doing God knows what in the locker room. Not only do pills turn your children into prostitutes, it makes them into gay ones, lol.

I don't think the OP has many friends, certainly none who use anything because the naivete is striking. I might have believed something like this at one point, I remember hearing that snorting cocaine in the bathroom at a nearby school was commonplace, especially among the girls. I believed it till I started dating one of the girls there. I don't think any of them would have known where to get coke, much less use it at school on a regular basis, lol.

Don't believe what you hear. There was probably one chick dating a dealer, so other girls started the story that she was whoring herself out for his drugs, then you get it three or four steps from the source and the story now says it's commonplace.

I know meth heads that do this, but by the time their addiction drives them to this extreme, they've long given up any sort of educational program.

Oh yeah, there are definitely people who have sex or suck dick for drugs and/or the money for drugs. There just aren't many who are under 18.

If I'm ever asked to fuck a reasonably attractive female in exchange for drugs, I'll join their ranks. There just aren't many attractive female drug dealers making that request, though. Lol.

Thanks Guys and Girls I hope this will get me a new topic. You here stuff but no one ever seems to get in trouble. Thanks for taking your time out to answer my questions.
Thanks again Dave

By the way kids wrote on paper problems in our school and turned it in and then it was handed out randomly and i got this crap. The football players did get in trouble six or eight of them but that's all I was told steroids and then pain killers. I just moved here my senior year I just want to get good grades so i can go to college back home. There is not anything out there on this topic it is going to be one lame as paper if Mr. Sarantopoulos does not give me something else to work with and its 25% of our grade.

Just remember you don't need to hold the same opinion of the topic to write a paper. Write out concise, well researched arguments and come to a logic conclusion, which in this case will probably be that there is a misconception that school kids trading drug for sex is a major issue and resources should be utilised to target more prevalent problems with youth and drugs.

I can only speak from my own experience, but this seems to be blatant sensationalism. At my U.K. High School (age 11-16), drugs were present in some people's lives, and massively overstated. Only 2 students, 1 being myself,, out of ~900 actually had a substance abuse problem, as opposed to smoking a few joints at the weekend. There was no 'trading drugs for sex'. There was no depravity or thriving underground market. There was hormonal teenagers having sex, maybe with some weed thrown in. Teenage boys will do 'god knows what' whether drugs are a factor or not.
It appears you are massively overstating a situation that is either a complete minority or simply doesn't exist.
