Fun/Facts? Why can't fun be tangible like facts so we can point to our accomplishments? They are connected and similar in necessity. We need fun and we need knowledge. Yet, which do we pursue most frequent? And incorporate in us? The Equilibrium/Balance doesn't account for being able too touch it...

this is an interesting thought. i'm reading a book now entitled "Flow" by a fellow named Csikszentmihalyi, and it explores the close relationship between enjoyment and accomplishment and how much the former depends on the latter.

he also discusses how unsatisfactory the pursuit of euphoria can be. as you say, there is nothing to really show for or use to quantify the effort we put into pursuing pleasure [for the sake of pleasure], so ultimately there is a big difference between the joy that comes about as a result of accomplishing quantifiable goals and the euphoria that comes about as a result of railing some blow.
