Word of Warning

There’s a kick in your step
An extra little smirk in your smile
He makes you feel special
But it’s only for a while

He makes you feel spectacular
The passion seems so real
You feel some kind of chemistry
But soon betrayal is all you’ll feel

Used like an old shoe
Then discarded
A consumable is all you are to him
Your heart will feel retarded

He tells you can trust him
But it’s all so pseudo
You feel you could love him
You don’t have a clue though

It seems so right
Except every up has a down
But don’t worry my darling
I’ll help you get rid of that frown

This is just the beginning
Every love must end
What will happen in the middle?
Will you break, how far can you bend?

I don’t have the answers
Only time will tell
A friend is sticking by you
Just call out, scream or yell

The longer that it lasts
The further you will fall
But don’t let that stop you
A friend is waiting for the call

The scars will last a while
The fire like pain will feel deep
A friend will catch you
To make the hurt sleep

Try this love
Cry those tears
A true friend won’t detach
Not even after years

nicely done. i feel as if ive been "that man" in a few instances.. very unintentionally, but its true. i feel sorry for anyone that has done this, or has had it happen to... its only too true, everythiny said above.
