Word of the Day Part Drei: It's Moist in Here (So Take Off All Your Pants)

No need to apologise Sadie, tis not your fault. America has its own culture, it just annoys me that we always have to copy them. Look at 'trick or treat'. You spend all your time telling yer kids to not accept sweets from strangers, then suddenly on one day of the year its OK to go knocking on strangers' doors for sweets...

Anyway, word of the day:

Fuckinbastardparkingwardens

Hey now, Halloween is one holiday you don't mess about with me! I see your point though. Also, I know the pains of "prom" I was working at the time and my mum worked her butt off to help pay for half of it. All my wages went towards it. It's expensive and looking back not worth it. Be thankful it only happens once over here. In the states Juniors and seniors go to prom which means two years running you have a shite expense to worry about. ( I got expelled just before prom in my Junior year, had already paid $50 for my tickets )

At least as an adult Halloween means parties and fantastic decorations and scary movie night in your beloveds arms! I do love horror and Halloween!

Oh, in keeping the thread on track I should include a wotd.

Bliss

Unfortunately,
we have now copied the junior prom idea. So I'll have my daughter's senior prom this year, then next year its my son's junior prom... :(

Soon we'll be celebrating thanksgiving and independence day.....

I suppose I have a bit of home sickness when it comes to Thanksgiving. I did celebrate it when I first moved here but in-laws insist on turkey for christmas. I can't do two big turkey meals a year. Blergh! For me, from the age of about 13 it was me that was cooking these holiday meals. Turkey was okay ( mine always moist and delish! if I do say so myself ) but Thanksgiving was always a family tradition. I'd cook, we'd watch the Macy's parade on telly. Eat and gab. Then nibble a bit later simply because, well we're American and it's a gluttonous holiday, and towards the end of the evening we'd decorate the Christmas tree. It still makes me smile thinking of all those family times. Makes me realise how wonderful a childhood I had. How close I was with my family whom are mostly departed now.

Sorry to hear about the Junior thing! If it makes you feel any better I have twins. I get to do this at double the price for two years going now it seems. FML!

Did you used to do all that stuff like vegetables with marshmallows in them, Sadie? Also seen a whole Turkey deep fried for Thanksgiving. It's probably pretty banging, come to think of it.

Oddly enough a co-worker and I were speaking of this just yesterday as well as a customer. The only veg I know of that you do with mallow is Sweet potato. There is a reason they call it sweet. It's sweet! I don't really care for sweet potato pie too much. The marshmallow gives it a diabeeeeeetus feel to it. Mostly because I don't really care for sweet things. I do however make a smashing pumpkin pie. Bloody delish if I do say so myself!!! I used to make it every year over here and still get requests for it. I use real pumpkins and since you lot don't do tinned pumpkin I can only make these pies one month a year.

Indeed I do know how it is... In fact, I'm such a misanthrope that I have more to do with you lot than my friends irl. Therefore, I would be dubious about attending a BL meet up, because y'all would no longer be in a state of quantum superposition (i.e. real & not real) because meeting you physically would collapse the waveform into the 'real ' state permanently thus invading my psyche with something I no longer have control of and would be forced to avoid you at all costs because people are psychic vampires man!
So here's to misanthropy...

Ffs we are bleeding clones, hows our paranoia?=D

Only time i'd go to a BL meet is if it were a camping trip or fezzie, I need my space and freedom even with people i've known IRL for over 40 yrs, self realisation is a bitch:)

always loved a bit of the old chaos and anarchy, but deep down, personally, i'm a bit of a control freak.
