Now, here's a word that, if it doesn't exist, it jolly well ought to: Sausenger Just as a messenger is a person delivering a message, a passenger is a person who has been granted passage, so a sausenger is a platter for serving sausages, and carrying a mighty assortment of smoked, spicy, pork, beef, chicken and vegetable sausages, sausage rolls and miniature hotdogs. Individual links down to chipolatas, and slices of salamis and the larger sausages. Garlic sausage, peppery Cumberland ring, coarse-cut country sausage, fiery chili chorizo and the gentle sage flavour of Lincolnshire sausage.
Bring on the sausenger!
(I'm also thinking of some TV programme where some young lad who had been a vegan all his life was forced to help make sausages in a group survival scenario, and he was, like, You're turning a dead animal inside-out!)
