Wondering why this orange DMT does not work well

Ok, so I purchased ~250mg of DMT the other day. Immediately, I thought there was a problem, cause it was orange, not amber like it had been before, but I ignored it. However, when I went to smoke ~100 mg, a sizeable dose, it simply melted in a orange syrupy puddle in the bottom of the bulb, and I barely felt anything. Now, while I can say that this was DMT, it felt extremly weak. I was wondering if I was maybe doing something wrong in trying to smoke that much at once, or if its more likely I jsut got burned with a bad batch?
 
Some n,n-DMT is orange and very potent, even though the ideal situation is pearly white n,n-DMT (no oxidation/less impurities). If it didnt do anything, it's something wrong with the DMT and probably unrelated to the actual color. I've had some gross looking dark orange n,n that still ripped me apart.
 
yeah I tried it again, still no luck. Ive done it before, same method with the meth bulb (clean, btw, only used for dmt) and got fucked up. This stuff, however, i feel it a bit for like 3 minutes, then nothing, no visuals or brain activity, just a body high. and like i said, it was definitely dmt, you could tell by the smell. whats weird is me and a couple other people have had little or no effect, and some people are getting ripped on this stuff. higher expectations maybe? I dunno

Perhaps you didn't heat it long enough? DMT doesn't sublime. When you smoke DMT, first it melts, then it vaporizes.
 
I had a similar problem with it melting through the gauze and layer of ash, now theres probably a few hits that have solidified in the bottom of the bowl on my spoon pipe.
 
Have you had good results before with lower dosages of another batch of DMT, proving your vaporizing technique is right?
Other than that there could be something wrong with that (if you burn it too much the smoke gets disgusting and harsh, if you heat it not enough it just stays put and/or melts down into the pipe) there could be something about the quality as you say.
Yes its certainly possible that it's weak but the color is a bad indicator so I'm afraid you will only know by doing tests on the variables...

it's supposed to melt into a puddle. then produces noticeable vapor when it heats up a little bit more. If you did that, then there are too many variables to know. The bark or grass from which it was extracted could have had a low concentration of actual DMT. Plant fats and other alkaloids can be extracted along with the DMT, giving some their color. Depending on what it was extracted from, some of the alkaloids can be psychoactive as well. 5-meO-DMT, is a lot like DMT, just without the visuals, which is in some of the plants used to extract DMT.

I usually just extract the stuff myself. I hate not knowing the source.
 
Try building "the machine". Can definitely reccomend it for smoking DMT. It seems more effective than a lightbulb. However 100 mg should definitely have given at least a medium trip even though the vaporization technique was not all that great.

You cant tell anything judging from the color. Ive had orange to red DMT that worked like a dream.
