Wondering what's the best SNRI or DNRI to mix with Vyvanse?

Hi there,
Until October I was on generic Adderall 30mg and Wellbutrin 100mg 2x/day.

I was recently switched insurance companies (I'm insured by the state and had to reapply, long story short I was switched, and was about to switch back to make things easier but I saw they have Vyvanse on their formulary), so I decided to stay with this new company.

My appt is on the 22nd and I want to be prepared to fill him in on WHY I take adderall and want to make the switch (hopefully he gets an incentive to give out Vyvanse so he doesn't ask questions), anyway, at this point I want to go back on Wellbutrin as well (I love the libido increase), but I want to know if anyone has any advice or ideas on what might be better to take, or if I should take wellbutrin at all. I've heard it has conflicting responses with Adderall but I wasn't sure because adderall never seemed to get me higher than placebo effect. I'm hoping Vyvanse is the difference I need, as I remember Dexedrine has been a lot more effective for me than adderall. I don't know if it's the generic brands that suck ass, or if I just have a bad response to some of these drugs, but I want to continue my self-experiment and finally try Vyvanse and anything else that might enhance my life-experience.

I have slight problems with socializing, which I'm sure the vyvanse can clear, but It'd be nice to take something else so I don't always have to be on amphetamines. I also have problems with stress. I wouldn't say i'm ever depressed, just 'very demotivated' at times. Wellbutrin seemed to work very well but I feel like there might be something better out there. Any questions or advice welcome. Aloha.

I'm confused why you want to switch from Adderall to Vyvanse. Shouldn't it be the other way around?

I've heard ever since Shire gave up it's patent for Adderall XR that it's sucked, and I don't have much care for the generics. I want to try Vyvanse because I've never tried it before, and to be honest it sounds quite palpable, as generic Adderall was NOT the case. If vyvanse doesn't work I guess i'll have to try XR again, but it's been years since i've been on that.

Vyvanse is more like a Dexedrine XR for me. I'd much rather be prescribed a high dosage of Vyvanse than any dosage of Adderall XR or IR. Adderall is jittery and anxiogenic IME, I literally refuse to take it anymore even on benzos. I can definitely understand why you would wanna make that switch.

Why not just stick to the amphetamines, like Vyvanse, and not complicate it with another psych drug? In any event you could stick with the Wellbutrin if it really worked for you. Any daily use of stims like amphetamines for any extended period of time is no a good idea, but it sounds like that train has left the station. Anyway, I'd recommend using the Vyvanse only as needed. You might want to look into getting a small benzo script to be used as needed for your social anxiety and the anxiety brought on by stims, especially when coming down from them. Benzos are very addictive, but used as needed you can avoid addiction and dependence, that is if you don't take them for days at a time longer than a few weeks max. Hope this helps.

There's little to no difference between the generic Adderall XR and name brand Adderall XRs.

We're not here to help you get drugs from your doctor. IME, Vyvanse is worse than Adderall XR anyway. Dexedrine XR is the best.

I agree with Alex000, mixing psychiatric drugs in is asking for more problems down the road anyway.
