Misc Wondering About Focalin...

So, several months ago, I snorted about 70-80mg of Focalin and had a great time. No anxiety or anything. Then, a couple weeks later, I snort about 60mg, and my heart rate shoots up, my breathing becomes shallow and constricted and I'm extremely anxious. This lasts for probably an hour or two until it finally goes away, and I end up feeling like crap. Now, just the other day I snorted a little over 20mg and I noticed slight anxiety, heart beating slightly fast and minor constricted breathing. Then, the next day, I attempted this again while doing it at a very controlled pace. I would snort 5mg, see how I feel, then continue on. So, I made it up to 30 and was feeling great. It took me a while to get up there, but I was working very hard on controlling my anxiety and so far it was working. Then, I snort another 2.5mg or so and not long after, I completely lose it. I am no longer able to control my anxiety because my heart rate is up, my breathing is shallow and my thoughts are racing because I'm so freaked out. This eventually died down after an hour or so, laying down helped. Now, I think some of this might have to do with the fact I'm on two different other medicines: Lamictol and Respiradol, which are for people with bi-polar disorder. Neither of them are MAOIs or SSRIs though, and those would be the ones to interact with Focalin. I'm also taking a stool softener and a Fishoil tablet daily, but I doubt that has anything to do with it. I looked up my symptoms on Focalin and it seems it might be all because I'm possibly allergic to it, but I don't see how...since I had that good experience back in October I believe. All I felt then was euphoria and no real discomfort. What is going on?

You're taking way too much, most people are treated theraputicaly at doses less than 30mg.

Risperadol will reduce the effectiveness of Focalin because it blocks dopamine's effects in your brain, and Focalin increases the amount of dopamine released.
Methylphenidate is knwon for inducing anxiety in many people. I think you're just one of them.

True, and that's interesting about the Risperadol. However, I snorted 70mg of Focalin several months ago and was fine. I didn't experience anxiety or anything.

That doesn't mean you can repeat that experience; I would count that as an anomaly.

Well, chest tightness, rapid heartbeat and anxiety didn't occur, so I'm sure it might be something to do with the Risperdol or Lamictol...maybe they've increased my anxiety levels.

Bipolar+stims=EA drinks from the shear idiocy.
Your meds probably blunted the effects, particularly since stim euphoria is strangely dependent on 5HT signaling.

Don't play with stims if you're bipolar, I've seen far too much to let me tell you it's a bad idea.
