You're right, i read about it recently but forgot:

Because of court rulings, filming adult movies is legal in California, Florida and New Hampshire. Nevada, where prostitution is legal, tolerates it. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/11/06/h...-prevention-porn-industry.html?pagewanted=all

right about middle age men too . . . i suppose middle age men might want to watch it but it seemed like prostitution to me

Something feminists made up to alienate men, rhetorically inflate the plight of women to grandiose (societal) proportions, and draw attention to themselves.

Seems about right. I in no way endorse rape specifically, or misogyny in general. But to say Western cultural norms in any sense endorses rape (currently, or historically) is absurd.

Naturally so. The idea becomes even more absurd when one considers the fact that slightly >50% of the world's population constitutes the sum total of 'rape culture's' supposed victims - and, given their vast numbers, presumably its creators and stewards as well, at least in part. Though I certainly do not and cannot deny the unambiguously hideous ways that women have been systematically subjugated and abused for millennia (and are still, to a great extent, mistreated today), I see no reason to take serious crimes of victimization (e.g., rape) and shamelessly appropriate them in service of inflammatory rhetoric.

I'd never heard of that concept of 'rape culture'...That's horrible. It seems wrong for feminism to utilize something like that to get its points across.

Rape culture is real. We are so deluged with it in our society that it appears to be the norm. It is not a ploy of feminists to try draw attention to themselves. 8) Many advertisements indirectly perpetuate rape culture by showing headless models, body parts, etc. (cropping, not literally). Victim blaming occurs on a regular basis.

Its fine for an individual to state that he does not endorse rape, but you have been habituated to the culture of it.

I was thinking about this today. I actually feel bad because some of these girls are beautiful and you ask yourself, why is a girl that beautiful doing porn? Were they abused when they were younger and it is the only way they feel useful? I love porn, but at the same time I hate it. Yeah, some of these girls love what they are doing. If you watch Howard Stern some of these girls are just freaks and figure fuck it, I'm gonna fuck all these guys ANYWAY why not get paid. I don't know, I'm conflicted myself. It is sad.

That's idiotic. As if it's worse for a 'beautiful' girl to do porn than an ugly one 8)

I disagree. As I said in my first post, myself and my coworkers go to considerable effort (and personal risk) to prevent and/or punish rape. We do so on behalf of the state. I fail to see how that could ever constitute a cultural endorsement of rape. It's a criminal offense in every jurisdiction in the world, and is aggressively prosecuted in the West, with some of the heaviest sentences of any offense. (As in, rapists get longer jail terms than does espionage in the UK or Canada) It is further not taken lightly or endorsed in the public sphere/culture, in the way that say drugs/common assault/vandalism/etc are.

Rape Culture... silliness ....
real rape is fucking horrific but when its an agreed upon planned out act it can be super hot...

as far as women in porn being high.... a lot of people go to work high... and there are a lot of "hardcore" female drug addicts who dont do porn

^I'd disagree with the use of the term 'rape' to describe something that's planned and agreed upon. Seems quite antithetical.

Which is why I've also got a big problem with the expression 'rape fantasy'. It's not the same thing to fantasize about being strongly taken by some hot stranger in the middle of the night as to fantasize about what rape actually is...because I can't imagine anyone actually doing that.

But I digress from the topic.

Current porn is too agressive.

When i watch porn i prefer stuff from the 80s and ealry 90s when the girls were more glamorous and the sex was more about foreplay and experimenting. Anal is too common now.

"women in porn...what do you think?"

I think of loose pussy, lots of kegals when they retire and, even 50 kegals 4x a day may not repare all that dick abuse:(

A couple years back I would have said women in porn get shit on for basically nothing. Sadly this isn't the truth. I read some figures a while back that suggest a female porn start could make upwards of $1500 in two shoots (one day) depending on location, agencies, and demographic. I don't know about a lot of you other BLers, but $1500 is a chunk of change. I honestly think that drugs and drug dependence play a major part in the way the pornographic industry has changed. If anything, the website efukt has help clarify that. There isn't anything wrong with aggressive sex, but I can give you about 5 that make ass to mouth wrong.

Edit: @gr33n3y3z - When I think of porn I think of prolapsed colons, big black dicks, and methamphetamine.
