ATLANTA (AP) - A Wendy's employee who dropped a partially smoked blunt in a customer's cheeseburger has been fired and charged with marijuana possession.

Police in the city of Lovejoy, Ga., about 25 miles south of downtown Atlanta, said a customer drove home with her food on Nov. 1, took a bite out of the burger and noticed a strange smell wafting from it.

The woman pulled the bun off and saw a partially smoked blunt inside, police said. A blunt is marijuana rolled into a hollowed-out cigar.

The woman called the restaurant's manager and met there with police soon afterward.

In an incident report released Thursday, authorities said 32-year-old Amy Elizabeth Seiber admitted that the marijuana belonged to her as soon as she saw police standing in the restaurant with her manager.

Seiber told Officer Randall Rowland that it wouldn't make any sense to lie about the marijuana, since she and the restaurant's manager were the only ones working when the customer placed her drive-thru order, Rowland wrote in the report.

Seiber apologized, saying she had misplaced the marijuana, Rowland wrote.

Wendy's officials said they're deeply sorry for what happened.

"Obviously the employee broke the rules and did not follow proper food handling steps," said Wendy's spokesman Denny Lynch. He added that the corporation contacted the restaurant's owner and officials were told that she had been fired.

"They have apologized to the customer and have offered to pay the medical bills," Lynch said.

I would of been like.... damn it's my lucky day! Food and a blunt... wassup Wendys, you doin thaaaangs big now! Okay not really, I would just totally take a picture of this and post it online, and laugh about it.

Eating a blunt wrapper is not good for you. Eating a cigarette butt can kill a small dog. Nicotine is a poison and 60 mg can kill an adult (that's only a few cigarettes).

No doubt.
But the customer noticed before eating it, I am pretty sure.
The article doesn't specify, but it does say that she noticed the smell after taking just one bite of the burger.
I think that it is a pretty safe bet that she ingested little or no nicotine.

Do they smoke tobacco with their weed in Georgia? I have not been there as an adult. I have been to Florida a few times. They didn't dilute marijuana with nasty tobacco there. Maybe Georgia is different?

It seems to me that there have been a rash of negative bylines concerning marijuana lately. In fact... you know what?

ALL the articles I read in the mainstream media make marijuana and the people who choose to use it sound

utterly useless.

Well, to be fair... there are a lot of people who smoke weed that are utterly useless.

I didn't read it all, but the thing I'm wondering... is how did the blunt get on the sandwich to begin with? Did she have it tucked behind her ear or something, and as she had her head down making it, it just fell out from behind her ear and she didn't notice it? & obviously, if it was only her and the manager there when it happened, her manager was outside smoking part of that blunt too. But at least she fessed up that it was hers, and didn't try playing it off on the other person.

Oh, I completely agree man. I just mentioned weed smokers because that's what we were speaking of at the time.

I'm thinking medical bills as a type of formal legal protection. Possibly the alleged victim of the misplaced cannabis had to be drug tested to prove she does not use cannabis.

I wish a mufu WOULD leave some weed in my food.

Shoot.

i <3 cannabis...
