HAGERSTOWN, Maryland — A woman is going to prison for breaking into her neighbor's house wearing nothing but a bridal skirt and veil.

The Herald-Mail of Hagerstown, Maryland, reports that a judge sentenced 33-year-old Melissa Wagaman on Thursday to five years. A jury had convicted her of second-degree assault, fourth-degree burglary and reckless endangerment for the February attack that injured Aaron Parrott.

Wagaman testified at trial that a combination of cold medicine and marijuana apparently made her hallucinate that she was getting married and that her mother was locked in her neighbor's basement.

Wagaman broke a dining room window with her head, causing shattered glass to cut an artery in her neighbor's arm.

You've been on bluelight how long? And, you haven't heard of DXM before? Damn...

I think he has considering he said "maybe she took a large dose of cold medicine"

Either way, this is clearly going to lead to negative media attention directed towards pot rather than negative media towards cough medicine abuse.

Apostacious the only thing that I said I hadn't heard of was combining DXM and Marijuana together to trip out ... I am aware of what Dextromethorphan is

it's probably an antihistamine like diphenhydramine (benadryl)

those drugs CAN easily cause this fucked up shit... she'd have had to taken more than a couple tablets, unless she's sensitive

marijuana may have potentiated the delirium, or may not have... either way it's in no way responsible...

if it was DXM, she'd have had to have taken at least a whole bottle of syrup or tablets (more likely two or three). if it was an antihistamine, several tablets could do the trick. the way she described the hallucination, it seems much more like an antihistamine "actual hallucination" than dissociative/psychedelic visuals

Five years is ridiculous!

She should have just been taken to the psychiatric hospital, there obviously were extenuating circumstances-- considering that she broke into her neighbor's house with her head, wearing a bridal skirt... If people can't give you the benefit of the doubt in such a circumstance, there is something badly wrong with the world.

I can't understand why she apologized to the neighbors, either. I would have lunged at them and growled at their children instead. But that's just me.

She only got 5 years because the neighbor was seriously injured and could have been killed. A piece of broken glass sliced an artery in her (the neighbors') arm.

From all of the articles i have read of the years, especially over my 2 years at bluelight, the law doesn't give a rats ass about extenuating circumstances. They will fuck you, and fuck you hard ANY chance they get.

It seems these days the law forgot how to actually sentence people, and its gotten to the point where every judge just wants to make an example out of Everyone; Especially in cases concerning drugs. Most likely from political pressure from politicians.

Sounds like a sad, sick mistake.
She was tripping, which is fine, but hallucinated that she was getting married next door...

The doors are locked! I gotta get in to find my groom!
Here, maybe I can swim through this window...
Oops!!
(shards of glass shatter the neighbor's artery)

5 years.

Indeed there is something terribly wrong with the world when people feel more empathy for people in psychosis that almost murder complete strangers than the victims. I hope you're just talking shit here. If not, your mental state is clearly deteriorating into some dark areas.
