Another reported Bath Salts freakout involving violence and removing clothing...

According to State Police, around 7:45 p.m. Tuesday Troopers were called to an apartment on North Main Street in the Village of Munnsville for a report of a woman assaulting her three-year-old child. While police were responding to scene, they say Madison County 911 dispatchers received several follow-up reports that the woman was punching and choking the child and had started to attack a neighbor.

When police arrived, they say they found 35-year-old Pamela McCarthy apparently under the influence of “bath salts”, an illegal synthetic drug. Police say Trooper Christopher Budlong attempted to arrest McCarthy, who was “violently combative” according to police and resisted attempts to handcuff her. Budlong used his police-issued pepper spray on McCarthy to no effect, so he then deployed his Taser and was able to handcuff McCarthy with the help of rescue personnel.

Police then say that after McCarthy was taken into custody she went into apparent cardiac arrest. She was taken by ambulance to Oneida Healthcare, where she later died.

Eyewitnesses say at one point she was sitting on the pavement spinning and laughing as she was hurting the child. They said the boy's father intervened and took the child away from McCarthy, at which point she chased a neighbor, Heather Ames, into her apartment and attacked her. Ames told Kenyon that she fought off the attack and McCarthy went back out into the parking lot, stripped off all of her clothes and threatened people passing by.

well i guess after having stints in ur heart after 2 days,..yea ud be dead too.she defenitely shudve taken that time to recover before starting up the 'bath salts".I think a combo of factors ended in this females death.1)her surgery/stints...2.)"bath salts" and 3.)and unfortunantly the taser shot she got...

I guess its a lesson in buying unknown chems from a bodega.Buy online...at least you know what you get..

You are lying to yourself if you believe purchasing online means you are going to get what you ordered.

Many of the vendors don't even know what it is they are truly selling.

^Agreed, it is no safer than buying from a store.

Although there are vendor review sites.. so doing your research and then making the purchase online would be the better idea.
But in no way a sure bet.

Using unknown, "research chemicals" (which means, funny enough, that people haven't researched them) is risky.
It doesn't matter where you buy them.
If drugs such as weed, mushrooms, and opium were legal, we could get high-quality drugs, and people would have no need to risk their health in the same way.

Absolutely agreed, slimvictor.

I was thinking more along the lines of by doing your research and then ordering online, you have less chance of getting a different chemical than you want or getting bunk shit.

As far as the dangers (long or short term) of the stuff itself to your mental or physical health, there is zero way of knowing.

Damn, beat me to it lol.
Wtf is this "allegedly" bullshit?? Either she was or she wasn't, she could have just been ape shit crazy if all they're going by is her behaviour. It says at some point in that article that one of the cops involved confirmed she was on "bath salts" at the time, dunno why they keep acting like it's just an assumption...
This is like that Miama face eater zombie bath salts shit, every net journalist goes for these kind of stories, ones similar to a recent story that stirred up a shitstorm on the internet. They chuck tags in there like bath salt and zombie, ones that everyone has come to associate these stories with, cos that's what everyone is gonna be searching for on the net. The version of this story I read had bath salts written about 10 times throughout the article. They don't even bother putting the actual name of the drug in the article. Feel bad for that chick's family though, especially her son...
It's not like MDPV is anything new, why is it such a massive thing in the media all of a sudden? Fucking media fad drugs... Even if it is illegal to sell, that shits unbelievably addictive from what I know and is readily available online. Wtf is the freaking point? Sounds easier to get than decent meth, and I know which one I'd rather be using. Legalize mother fuckers!
Eagerly awaiting the new and improved bath salts when China figures out another way around legislation. Lol...

Can Americans just not handle their drugs or something? These chemicals were in use for years in Europe and there was nobody eating peoples faces or tearing their clothes off and bashing people.

Just weird that as soon as these drugs take off in America there's this bizarre moral panic about them. I'm inclined to think that the people involved were already mentally ill drug users, and this only made the news because the incident happened when they were on "bath salts" instead of crack or meth.

Shit, did the Miami Cannibal even have Bath Salts in his system? I imagine if he did they would have released a toxicology report by now.

Fuck I hate the media.

^the US has extremely aggressive cops who also run the local media in their jurisdictions

It's like the mental hospital effect. When patients are in a mental hospital, surrounded by burly orderlies, they become frequently belligerent. These same patients are relatively calm when outside the hospital.

People do not have good reactions when confronted by violent asshole authority figures.

MDPV is a lot more like coke/crack than methamphetamine from what I've read. While this is clearly a media circus, I wouldn't be surprised at all if selling something far more potent by weight than crack without any instructions to people who don't use scales has led to an increase in cases of stimulant/sleep deprivation psychosis. These people don't know anything about the dosage/duration/mechanism of action, they're just dumping it out and railing it or smoking like grubby monkeys. This is why recreational drugs will need to require licenses and limited monthly allocations if they're to ever be legalized.

Shit, did the Miami Cannibal even have Bath Salts in his system? I imagine if he did they would have released a toxicology report by now.
Tox screens take 6 to 8 weeks. I'm not sure why they couldn't pull some strings in a high profile case like that one to speed it up, but I suppose it's just policy. I'm pretty sure we will hear about what those pills in his stomach were in due time.

It's just that the propaganda in the US is worse than ours in the UK - it seems more self-righteous and is tinged with religiousness. I hate the media.
