woke up too soon

i suddenly awake
looking around
searching
for the man in my dreams
where has he gone off to again?
oh thats right, i tell myself
as i rub the sleep out of my eyes.
it was only a dream.
he was only a dream.
what we had was only a dream.
i woke up too soon from my dream
and how he's gone.

Dreams like that are always unsettling. Remember that someone out there may be having a similar dream about you, just as upset that they woke too soon. This was very natural and in the moment...I liked that
