I am withdrawing off Morphine, Going to see a psychiatrist tomorrow/What should I ask?

My family doctor is on vacation for this week, I asked if i could see another doctor at the office (no doctor is in) So I called the walk in, (they do not do narcotics) I have a appointment with my psychiatrist tomorrow, now I know in the USA (I live in Canada) a psychiatrist can prescribe any kind of medication that has a mind altering effect even opiates. It was my doctors intention to ween me off, but she forgot to give me a refill, and now i cannot get a hold of her. Should I ask my psychiatrist to help me out, because its making my anxiety worse (which is why I see him I have GPD GAD) And he would be the only one who could fill a prescription of an opiate. It would either be him or the ER. I think asking the psychiatrist would be the best option, as we have a close relationship. What do you guys think? Because I have been on morphine for over a year now, I cannot just stop cold turkey with my current state in life.

So basically what I am saying is........ Have you heard of psychiatrists giving an opiate medication in circumstances like these?

Mine was willing to script me anything I felt helpful to me at the time. I got a little bit of everything haha. Unfortunately, this kind of thread is against the rules, you know that...

I just need to know, if a psychiatrist can prescribe narcotics. A MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL. A Psychiatrist is a doctor first, Psych second, So I am assuming if it is messing up my mind
(withdraw) which I am suppose to still be on them, but since I cannot get in contact with the doctor, he is the only alternative besides the ER.

Im not sure if they will script you opiates.. but you may want to ask them to script you some medications that will help you with the witdrawls that arent opaites if they are not willing to script you opiates.
