Opioids Withdrawals

I decided to take a break for day as i thought getting high every night was a bit much. I usually take 120mg codeine and 60mg DHC together in an evening. Since my 'night off' i have felt like death, runny nose, tired, stomach cramps, fever, depressed etc.

These feelings make me not wanna touch any of them again, not getting any cravings. How long until i feel normal again? Is there anything i can do that will help?

Problem i have is the codeine is taken for chronic headaches, so i am having to go to my doctor today and tell him, which probably means being put onto something that won't help my pain.

Any advice would be great. Thanks.

Day 3, with a short acting opioid like codeine, should be the peak or end of the peak intensity of the withdrawal. Some people (like me) find that immodium (loperamide) helps with withdrawal, some need higher then directed.


Just remember that they get worse with stronger drugs/ higher doses/longer durations of use. If using as directed, your doctor should be able to help you with a taper plan if you want to take a break/cease treatment.
