In my head
I have a question about withdrawals. Let's say if I went cold turkey I would be in withdrawal for, say, 24 hours. After 1 hour I give in and take my dose of bupe to get rid of the w/d's. Then I wait until the bupe stops working and I go into withdrawal again. Would my withdrawals last slightly shorter this time? Or perhaps be less intense. To phrase it differently: for each minute you are in withdrawal, do your withdrawals get slightly shorter/better? Do you get a little less physically addicted for each second spent in withdrawal?

It's hard to say. Generally the longer you go between doses the less intense its going to be the next time. Helps if you're slowly lowering the dosage between each dose. If you're lowering your dosage then yes, you are slowly weening yourself off the drug in question (buprenorphine in your case) and reducing your physical addiction.

Buprenorphine's withdrawal syndrome can vary widely from person to person, from what I've read and my own personal experiences. I'm a current - basically daily - Suboxone user, so I can understand where you're coming from. I recently stocked up on benzos to help me through WDs as I'm running out of Subs but I just ended up eating the benzos and taking less buprenorphine. Can't tell which one is better in the long run. I'd rather be addicted to opiates than benzos in the end.

Long ramble aside, you are making progress, but when you redose the second WDs start, you are prolonging the entire withdrawal "experience".

Hope this helps and good luck!

That helps alot, thank you very much. I'm particularly glad you say I'm making progress. I will try to endure the w/d's when they appear. I've got 0.5mg triazolam that I plan to take when they begin, and hopefully I can refrain from taking bupe until the w/d's are almost gone. It oughta be possible seing as I only take 0.2-0.4mg bupe per day. Again, thank you!
