withdrawals or just "hung over"?

I went on a week long binge of pod tea, using about 20 pods in all over the course of 6 days. I made tea 3 different times, rinsing them again the next day to get the most out of them. I started last Saturday, using every day except for Monday. I know it's only been 6 days, but I swear I'm feeling withdrawals from the shit. I have that general shitty feeling on my skin, constantly yawning and watery eyes. Is there any chance that I'm just mentally feigning so bad that I think I'm withdrawing? I'm no stranger to opiates and addiction, but I've been clean for a long time now and didn't really think that a week long binge on pod tea was going to have that kind of effect.

What good would me answering this for you do? If you've been through it before, see how you feel, and I'm sure you'll be able to tell me for certain if you are in withdrawal before I can definitively answer you.

Mostly I was looking for others who may have been in this situation before to share their experiences. Maybe someone who's binged, thought they were in withdrawals but later realized it was just a hangover. I've also read that Pod Tea withdrawal can take up to 2 days to begin, and this being my first experience with it, don't know exactly what to expect.

If you've gone through withdrawals before, you know what to expect, they are all pretty much the same.

Could you acquire an addiction over 6 day use with pods, probably, but it makes it very difficult to give better answers because pods have various alkaloids in them, some of which may have knociked out other opiates, had higher affinity, had higher likelyhood to create tolerance. So I don't know the ratio of morphine content, etc, to pod.

So it would be hard for me to guess what you were in, without more data, and someone else comparing is just as likely shooting in the dark. Me, or another poster, wouldn't bet their life that it's the X or Y, because it's again hard to compare.

Things that would help. How many pods did you use, do you know the weight of the pods, and do you know the species of the pod?

You said you made 3 different teas? Did each new tea consist in a change of any of the above, or did you say start with 6 pods, and made 3 teas of 2 pods each (for example).

This information would be helpful to atleast making a better guess, cause as of now it's really shooting in the dark.

Also: On a side note, what are your plans if it is withdrawal vs not withdrawal? Because if the plans arn't going to change based upon what I tell you, then it's a moot point. Or are you trying to avoid doing more if you're not really withdrawing? Either way, try to get some of the information above, and I can atleast make a better educated guess on what you took, break it down, and see where you are at.

I live in Italy, and walked into a flower shop asking about 'papavero' and the shop owner walked me into the back of the shop where he had a vase of 20 pods. Some were larger than others, the smallest being about 1 inch in length and maybe half inch in diameter. I have pictures, actually. I can send them to you in a PM if that would help. I don't know the weight of the pods, but the average size was approximately 1.5 in. X 1.5 in.
The first night (Saturday) I used 9 pods, next day re-rinsed, next day didn't use any. Tuesday night I used 5 pods, Wed. re-rinsed those. Thursday I used my last 6 pods, re-rinsing those Friday. Saturday I broke apart the stems and made a tea with those, that was significantly less potent.

wtf are these answers? not helpful.

anyway, it's probably withdrawals. especially if you've been through addiction with opiates before. for the rest of your life, every time you use opiates, your brain is going to get signaled to produce more receptors. this usually takes prolonged use to occur. your brain recognizes it from before though.

so yes, you are in withdrawal. hopefully though it won't get much worse.
good luck.

Yeah, sounds like the onset of withdrawls. Stick it out for a few days, see how you feel.

To the poster asking how many pods, and telling you about morphine content etc, that's irrelevant. Even if you gave us your exact body weight, the exact amount of morphine and other opiate alkaloids consumed, everyones body chemistry is different. And regardless, theres no algorithm where you can input this X and Y info to get some sort of clean cut 'withrdawl schedule' or whatever.

So yeah, to me it definitely sounds like the onset. And 6 days of use is certainly enough to get withdrawl symptoms. If you have any pods left maybe taper doses so you don't feel like complete shit? Stick it out man, good luck.

Well, in desperation, I made some seed tea with grocery store-bought McCormick's seeds, using about 480 grams of seeds. After using pods, I was convinced that all the times that I used seeds, the effects I got were placebo, but in this desperate time, I didn't have any other options. So, I made that tea, and also went through the small pieces of stems/straw that I'd broken up and made a tea out of the day before, and chewed and sucked the remaining liquid out of them. I'd actually already made the tea, then re-rinsed (the straw), so by this time, I'm pretty sure all or most of the morphine content was already gone.
I'm not sure if what I did yesterday gave me anything at all, because I never got high, or felt noticeably "better". I think maybe the withdrawal was very short and mild....*hopefully*. If nothing else, I guess the point of this thread can be to give others something to gauge their use off of.
