Let's say same duration , 1 year. Daily 80mg of both. Will the wd be a lot easier. For Vicodin ? Or would it be hell either way?

Meh.
I doubt there's be a substantial difference in WD. Never WD from hydro though . Just oxy and dilaudid . So just a guess

some say hydro is harder. i know oxy was the easiest out of sub oxy and heroin for me. i would taper to 10mg if u can. maybe 1 10mg in the am and 1 10mg at night? gettin off a lower dose is easier.

id personally go for the one with the smaller half life, IF you can taper to 10-20 mg. i said IF

Although you won't experience heroin level withdrawls it's gonna suck.A slow taper is the way I'd go.I,ve been hitting my oxy script pretty hard(RX'd 10mg 4x/day,been doing 60- 80mg a day on average).I just cut back to 20 mg a day while I still have enough pills to taper until my next script and so far it's going okay.

Unless you are completely out then do a slow taper. Going cold turkey is going to suck either way but, ime, hydro is harder to come of off. I was literally wanting to pull my hair out at night because I couldn't sleep and the restlessness and insomnia was the worst. Oxy is easier to bear, imo, but can still be a pain given the dosage you were on. After about a week the worst of the symptoms will subside. But ya, hydro was really hard for me. Not just the physical symptoms but the depression as well really got to me. Either way, just stick it out and I hope all goes for the best.

if you have the luxury of some medical assistance , you can stop with no taper but you'd need help to keep the worst symptoms at bay. My doc told me straight up, withdrawal is gonna suck but the idea is to make it suck less, so...
I have clonidine , soma, klonopan , and promethazine and someone to doll it out to me when I kick. That might be overkill for some people but i handled it well, and a weeks worth of those won't cause withdrawal from any of them. If you can, find a dr or have someone help you. I got so strung out I couldnt even handle finding a Dr. My friend did all the research for me. I hope you have access to help because unassisted w/d is so fucking difficult.
Then again my doses of hydro and tramadol were ridiculously high.
