Withdrawal from codeine?

I've been in the habit of taking about 300mg of codeine daily. Now, when I don't take it every 24 hours or something I begin to get a little sick (just aching all over like I haven't slept the night before or something). It doesn't get much worse except for a nagging headache and a loosening of the bowels. I'm guessing this is a kind of withdrawal. I'm not seriously worried about it because its not severe at all (nic-fits are much much worse) and its something I can ignore or fix very easily. However, I want to know if there's anyone on here who gets something resembling withdrawal from codeine?
Another thing, the sickness may just be the kick from the caffeinne (cold water extraction won't take out the caffeinne and 300mg of codeine will have about 600mg of caffeinne in them (if you use T1s to get your codeine) ). So yea.. does anyone know which chemical is responsible for the withdrawal?

The codeine is responsible for the withdrawal... plus, there isn't caffeine in the pills, it's acetominophen, as far as I know + however many mg's of codeine. But, like I said before, it's the opiate (codeine) in the pills that causes the withdrawal.

Narcotic withdrawl is the primary issue here, the lack of codeine is causing the sickness/loosening of bowels/most symptoms. You may also be suffering from some caffeine withdrawl, but those symptoms are likely to be less noticeable (typically a headache and some lethargy). The caffeine withdrawl might be augmenting the codeine withdrawl, but the codeine's the main thing.

"T1s, T2s and T3s contain caffeine."
No they do not.Fiorinal and Fiorcet contain caffeine, as well as Darvon compound and
Synalgos DC, but Tylenol 1-4 contain only
tylenol and APAP

yeah, i have a bottle of t1's right in front of me, and also a bottle of t3's, and they both have caffeine. as mentioned t4s are the only ones without caffeine.

Wombat is correct....Tylenol w/Codeine does not contains caffeine.
Each Tylenol with codeine tablet contains:
No. 2 codeine phosphate* ... 15 mg
Acetaminophen ... 300 mg
No. 3 codeine phosphate* ... 30 mg
Acetaminophen ... 300 mg
No. 4 codeine phosphate* ... 60 mg
Acetaminophen ... 300 mg
Tylenol Inactive Ingredients: Tablets: powdered cellulose, magnesium stearate, sodium metabisulfite†, pregelatinized starch, starch (corn); elixir-alcohol, citric acid, propylene glycol, sodium benzoate, saccharin sodium, sucrose, natural and artificial flavors, FD&C yellow #6.
From www.rxlist.com .

Tylenol 1 as sold in Canada contains
300 mg acetaminophen
15 mg caffeinne
8 mg codeine.
I'm reading this right off the bottle.
Now, it may be that Tylenol 1 though it contains codeine is different from Tylenol with codeine (the kind that Wombat and Fairnymph are talking about). This might explain the debate taking place here.
Umm.. now back to my initial question, please
Thanks.

You've got one good source that confirms what I and others have said, and you've got another good source that simply doesn't mention the caffeine, (maybe rxlist just doesn't feel the need to mention caffeine?) so I'd feel it's safe to assume T1s, 2s and 3s contain caffeine.

Rx list does not leave out ingredidents.. they mention anything and everything that goes into a pill, even non actives
However, I guess it's possible they *forgot to mention it not that they felt it was unimportant.

Maybe only the brand name T-#'s manu. by McNeil have the caffiene, and the generics don't. Or perhaps the formula used to contain it, but doesn't anymore for some reason. Also note that Panadeine (a NZ et al. product) only contains cod/APAP 8/500 w/no caffiene. If interested, this product is available fairly cheaply off of the internet, and does not require a script. Also, most places that sell it (based somewhere that is not the US) have minimal or no shipping costs, and tell you what they are, unlike some websites that charge you a hidden S/H fee of 30-40 USD.

I am pretty sure that in Canada, T1's/Tylenol w/ Codeine/what-ever-u-wanna-call-em are available without a prescription. Canada law says that this is ok as long as the max. amount of codeine per dose is 8mg or less, and that it contains something else in addition to the acetominophen (caffeine). I guess this is just to degrade its recreational value even further and make it harder to extract the pure codeine (to make better opiates).
