I hope it isn't frowned upon that I'm making an account to ask just this question, but please understand my distress.

Is it possible to get withdrawal symptoms from a single dose of 40mg diazepam for someone that has no tolerance? My friend who doesn't normally do drugs went on a binge of speed, stayed up the whole night and took some Valium to calm himself down. It has been 5 days since then, and he's experiencing a lot of anxiety and panicky feelings throughout the day. It seemed to get better during days 2-4 though. He's also been having stomach pain and constipation. He went and had himself checked out at the hospital, everything was fine.

Will he be alright? Is the anxiety caused by some kind of withdrawal syndrome or just because of worry?

IME it's very very very unlikely you will experience any withdrawal from one single dose of Diazepam. Unless you have previously been a Benzo user then I think you're symptoms are related to something else.

I hope you feel better soon. ;)

Thanks for the answer :) My friend, you mean? ;) I think the whole thing triggered some kind of anxiety scenario since I have a history with depression and anxiety. I've been feeling better, just gotta keep positive.

You're welcome ;)

If you have a history of depression and anxiety then my advice would be to stay away from Benzo's. They usually just end up exacerbating those problems in the medium - long term.
