Opioids Withdrawal coping techniques (Mega Thread)

I don't recomend Suboxone to ANYONE... not anyone who is ginuinely trying to stay clean. That shit is a set up for failure, take it from me. I tapered off of it like they told me to and I got just as sick as any other detox. never again....

thanks syncho for the response and yes I use very little (typically 5-10 mgs in a day) Honestly i rarely get fucked up anymore on it, let alone nod. really the only reason i do this i cause it kills my social anxiety even though i hardly feel it (placebo effect plus actual effects)
second question: is this a practical anti-anxiety treatment or am i playing with fire?

Opiates in general are playing with fire, IMO. The largest risk factor that doesn't come from impure drugs, unwise dosing, or IV use is the addiction potential. Dosing like you are now is playing unsafely with fire... It can be done relatively safely though.

There is a few ways that you can play with fire safely though (haven't you seen fire breathers? ;) ) Not using opiates more than maybe twice a week or so is how way to avoid dependence, though you need to beware that it is easy to slip up and get addicted when dosing so regularly. Preferably, if you decide to go this route you will use less than twice per week on average. The other way to approach this is to get your tolerance down and try something like plain leaf kratom, which has a bit less addiction potential. This is what I personally do, and I can attest to it being a wonderful social anxiety reliever. It is still wise to dose less than daily with kratom, but it can be used a fair bit more often than traditional opiates without causing dependence. Another benefit is that tolerance stays fairly consistent.

Anyway, this is just to think about, good luck with whatever you decide.

Suboxone is a maintenance drug... It sucks that many doctors are uneducated about it, but if used correctly buprenorphine is not a bad drug ITOOM.

suboxone is insanely expensive and is just as addictive as heroin. due to its longer half life the wd's are also longer. I tapered from 1mg: 6months of use on 2mg's a day. It should be measured in micrograms its that powerful. I got back on subs now for 2 weeks and decided to just use h to taper as it's half life is shorter.

Clonidine helps but its also extremely stupifying, you'll find it next to impossible to get off the couch.
