[Note to Bluelighters: the following sonnet was composed as a both a tribute to Bubb Rubb (let me know if that link doesn't work) and to fullfill my requirements to write a closed form poem for an Introductory Poetry course I took last semester. Enjoy and please provide me with plenty of feedback ;) ]

Malted Breath and Vacant Eye: He seizes
his day and unleashes his screeching cry
whilst puffing on a menthol. He wheezes.
“Its only decoration,” she’ll reply
when Oakland residents ask, what’s that noise
like the squealing Barttrain: - can’t concentrate! –
residents gone mad, their peace it destroys.
“Whoo, whoo!” he boldly calls as eye's dilate.
Bubb Rubb’s visage was digitally rendered
Of his great fame he goes forth unaware
through ignorance, fame’s fortune surrendered
But he’s brought millions laughter, some despair.
So “Whoo! Whoo” for mufflers, “Whoo! Whoo!” for tips,
“Whoo! Whoo!” for his whistle. “Whoo! Whoo!” Sip. Sip.
