We went for a weekend to Adelaide and found such a cool winery, if a cellar door would be in Glebe or Newtown this would be it.

I Highly recommend the 'Changing Lanes' 2005 or the Dead Windmakers Society 2008.

It's also difficult for me to not like (or at very least appreciate) wine.

I have it stuck in my head to remember next time I'm at the bottle shop. I'll report back if/when I try it

I was at the wine store today and forgot what the current variety in question is, so I am going to review the one I bought anyway.
I do not know much about wines. I know my favorites are French. I am just going to read the label:

Lafite Barons de Rothchild

White (60% Semillion, 40% Sauvignon Blanc)

Special Reserve

Bordeaux

2007

I chilled the bottle, removed the cork, and let set for 20 minutes.


I poured into a wide rimmed wine glass.

Notes:

Light, crisp, clean, and a bit tart. Reminds me of tangerines and apples. Very mild alcohol bite.

A refreshing and tasty treat after a hot day. Tastes like a fresh apple with a citrus kick.

Okay, that was my first review. I will try to be more descriptive as I learn more. I rate this wine a 3.5 out of 5. Worth the fifteen bucks.

A new variety of wine is selected to be sampled and critiqued ever so often, or something to that effect (I suppose I will have to read page one again).

Im not sure if there is a variety of the month at the moment. Im waiting for an excuse to buy another bottle of wine.

On the topic of awesome Sauv Blanc from New Zealand I am particularly fond of Crowded House Sauvignon Blanc. Apparently the band of the same name also comes from that country.

I am by no means well versed in the language of wine tasting, but am actually in the process of learning more about wines. For your Chardonnay, I will review a local:

HENRY OF PELHAM BARREL FERMENTED CHARDONNAY, 2007 (Ontario, Canada).

This is one of the better local wines, IMO, and actually one of my first choices if I wanted to go with a chardonnay. It is a bit on the expensive side (around $20), but certainly worth its cost. The taste is dry like I like it, full, buttery and nutty (which makes it better than the non-oaked Chardonnay by the same producer). Great after-taste as well.

I'd give it an 8/10.

My vote for next would be a Valpolicella (Red).

I more often than not drink wite, and my most used wine is a Venitian P. Grigio mixed with other local varieties. I'll review it when P. Grigio comes up .

Shit, I take this back. I must have been either drunk, or their 2008 edition is so far inferior as to make their previous ones look bad. This stuff (the 2008) is vile.

Dry, crisp and clean. A bit too dry for my taste. Not bad, but not wonderful either. 4/10

looks like this just turned into a general discussion about wine. wonderful.

after looking for a long time, we have found a wine store that will order noval tawny for us. we got one bottle, and their source is dry. but there is a little left, and it's been a great bottle. this and fonseca compete for my favorite tawny. i think noval wins. has better follow through.

i like Red and Green Tara incense with most any Malbec; usually Gascon or Alamos.
