Chair.
I shall suspend all preconceptions,
walk courageously on down the corridor.
Steady hand upon each and every handle,
turning keys and enduring recollection.

Behind every door, an abandoned piece,
another layer of the aching onion.
Behind every masque, in every costume,
sweet and sour familiarity.

Following the whirlwind of ancient whispers,
I eat and digest all these disowned echos.
Integrating faces, ever-widening the central eye,
fearful yet willing to swallow all I find.

This last line seems to sum up the rest of the piece beautifully. It actually barks at the rest of your work.

sounds like doing a 4th step.

I like the phrase, "sweet and sour familiarity". I think those simple adjectives describe perfectly well the gut-reactions to either fond or shameful memories.

I dig the maturity. Sounds like you've done some work. stay brave.
