Willie Nelson busted with 'shrooms (Updated 4/27/07)

I dunno if toby kieth said anything about a grow op but i only watched about half of it. I wouldn't be surprised to find out Willie got pulled over because what toby said on the colbert report though.:\
 
Can't tell the quality of the bud in the pic, but it's at least mids. The bag on the right must be the stem/seed bag or something..

this was also during the whole Operation Pipe Dreams, and i'm pretty sure that feds were allowed to bust anyone selling paraphernalia, despite state laws or if they were sold 'for tobacco use only' (which is why it was a big deal). again, i'm not quite sure about this, i read it in rolling stone awhile ago.

narcotics technically refers to any chemical derived from the poppy plant. when the War on Drugs became a big campaign, pretty much all drugs were considered narcotics. i guess it sounds more intense? i think by 'narcotic mushrooms' they are just trying to say they are the kind that make you feel funny. this is a good example of the media twisting a story in the smallest way and putting a negative conotation about drug use.

yeah i think the bad on the right is just the trash bag or something. knowing willie, no doubt the one on the left is bomb shit.

Otacon: Are you sure they just got citations? I was just watching Bill Maher and he said willie might receive jail time. i went straight to this thread planning to bitch about it, but i guess not...
 
oh ok. so what exactly is a citation? i know it's a summons to appear in court, but do you have a charge or will the judge decide that or what?

ST. MARTINVILLE, La. -- Willie Nelson and his tour manager were spared jail time Tuesday after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor count of marijuana possession.

Nelson and tour manager David Anderson, along with Nelson's sister, Bobbie Nelson, and two drivers, were issued citations on Sept. 18 after state troopers said they found marijuana and hallucinogenic mushrooms on the country legend's tour bus during a commercial-vehicle inspection on Interstate 10.

State District Judge Paul deMahy fined Nelson and Anderson $1,024 each and put both on probation for six months. As part of a plea agreement, the citation against Bobbie Nelson was dismissed.

St. Martin Parish Assistant District Attorney Chester Cedars said he dismissed the citations against the two drivers because there was no indication they "had anything to do with the contraband."

Word spread quickly that Nelson was in this small southern Louisiana town, and a crowd of about 25 fans gathered outside to wait for the entertainer after his brief court appearance. When he emerged, Nelson obliged, shaking hands, signing scraps of paper and posing for photographs.

"Thank y'all," he said, waving as he climbed into a waiting car.

I'm happy for Willie but it's still a shame that celebrities get treated so much differently.. any normal joe would be locked up for a long ass time :\

Look at the bright side....at least somebody almost got away with indulging in their natural right to be left the fuck alone.

For the rest of us...until we get the nerve to start putting some heads on the ends of sticks, very little will change.
 
yeah of course i dont think anybody should go to jail for weed so thats good. but if he was treated like everybody else, there's a lot more likely chance of an outcry and possibly things would change.. though i wouldn't hold my breath
 
Actually even if you weren't a celeb an expensive lawyer probably wopuld of got you off the same right? If you had some type of use for it, besides JUST getting high, and maybe doing drug or rehab courses?
