I've got a buddy who trips with his dad occasionally. His dad smokes weed, rolls, does pretty much everything occasionally. Aside from that hes a hardworking dude owns his own deli and construction biz and they live in a big old house in the burbs.
No, I don't think i'll ever quit drugs completely
 
I don't think I will ever say forever. I try to be more responsible with my use as I get older, and space it out. I sometimes take many months off from my DOC(opiates), then will go on a binge for a month. After the month+ long binge, I get this guilty feeling inside, that makes me stop again. Stopping sucks, but I make it happen with my will, and desire to get back to base camp in my mind.

I think yes, I will stop the hardcore shit and move on to the normal old folk stuff when I'm older ie. pharms, alcohol, pot, maybe some shrooms once in a while.
 
Only thing Ive had trouble stopping is dope. I don't enjoy weed or booze so that's not a problem. I do smoke mad cigs though, usually when Im high (well thats everyday). I am currently on sub maintenance and plan to stop them soon as well, tapering down.

The thread isn't asking if you'd quit just the "hardcore shit". Its stopping all drugs completely. If you move onto "normal old folk stuff" like you said then your answer to the question proposed by this thread is a "No". I don't think many people would chose to give up all drugs and that is why so many people answered "No".
 
Who knows...
I imagine if/when I "settle down" that will be when I stop. But who knows. By that time drugs (I'm thinking psychedelics if anything) could be an important part of my life.
 
i still just can not see me ever stopping smoking blunts. and when im bed ridden or like 70 im just gonna be a junkie and kill the pain so i can die comfortably. they shud do that for all the elderly. guarentee they would appreciate it.
 
I hope not. Without drugs there would be many days that I wouldn't bother to even get up in the morning.
 
Um maybe at one stage when I have children, if I have children. Id probably continue smoking marijuana but tone it down alot and give up everything else. At the moment I cant see me giving it up, but id probably have to be a responsible adult for my kids.
 
I tend to say that when I'm fucked up on drugs but when totally sober it's hard to say no to drugs when they are available.

I want to forever say no to drugs cuz they take the pain away for a second and create a million more problems.
