will temporarily taking methadone end my withdrawels?

Suboxone is what worked beautifully b4. Unfortunatly i live in red neck valley and no one has what u need when u need it. I have a bottle of liquid methadone that ive been dosing with the last two days to not get sick. I have a real bad o.c. addiction and i hate it and i have no money or insurance for proper treatment. So i want to know if by taking the small 20 mg dose ive been taking will I just stall my withdrawels or can i avoid them? And dont give me the "dont trade one addiction for another reply" because DUH! Im very serious about ending my opiate career. I just cant handle day two of w/d i would kill myself. I have too many other psychological issues i deal with. I've tried I just cant go cold turkey.
 
Damn man is there really no one with sound advice? No relateble experiences? Hmm.... guess its up to me to figure it out :( lol.
 
I would say no unless you taper down. Continuing to take the same amount of methadone daily would just hold off the withdrawal until it too started to come out of your system. I thought the same thing when I first heard of methadone. I took it for 3 straight weeks and it just made the withdrawal SO much worse... I would start at 10mg every 12 hours, maybe even just 5mg, because methadones half life is really long and its stronger than you think, and taper down from there. You will still feel withdrawal but it wont be near as bad.
 
It will help if you're serious about getting off oxys, I had methadone at one of my times in rehab. I don't remember the amounts they gave me but it was a quick five day detox. So yeah it can be done without dragging it out. Can you go to a clinic?
 
I speak only from my own experience. I had been a daily heavy IV heroin user some time till a situation left no choice but stop cold. Only resource I had were 8 methadone pills. After my last issue of heroin, I waited as long as possible in my withdrawals before taking my methadone. Soon after wds subsided, diarrhea , headache, anxiety, nausea. Being well from the methadone only lasted a short while, but the withdrawals returned much more gradually, and much Less intense. I believe this is an effective way to throw off your kick and lesson the intensity. however, using methadone regularly can lead 2 an addiction many people believe is worse than even heroin.
