So i have been taking methadone pretty regularly and my tolerance was starting to bug me. It was taking about 50-60mg to get a really nice high. Could get by with 20mg and not feel sick tho. So, the past four day i have just been taking morphine, about 180-200mg a day mostly oral, a little plugged. Do you think tomorrow when i take methadone my tolerance will be lower? The morphine was getting me high for sure, so might just take that again. Just i miss the methadone high

As caterva said there is cross-tolerance which means that your tolerance to methadone is likely the same or, as you said you were getting higher than usual off of morphine, even higher than before.
That being said cross-tolerances are not one hundred percent perfect so you may notice a slight drop in methadone tolerance (reason enough to take a slightly lower dose in my opinion). It is pretty unlikely though and will varying person to person.

sounds like you only changed for a day or 3 at most.......... more info needed.
but to answer your question as is, No, you are going to be the same most likely. a few days is nothing, especially since you probably been taking opioids for a long time.

If you are taking any decent amount of methadone then you won't be able to get high from morphine at all.....
There have been people on 60-80mg methadone that could shoot bundles of heroin and not get a damn thing out of it.
The only way to lower the tolerance is to kick methadone and go through a month of living hell. Or taper it down over a long period of time....
Unless you take really low doses of methadone don't waste your money on other opiates..........You should really have researched methadone before you got yourself into this giant mess. Good luck....
BTW I have been a methadone addict for over 2 years and have never been able to get high off of any other opiates/oids...........Methadone raises your tolerance through the roof for all of them in my experience......It is not for people who want to use for fun, it is for people that want to get off of opiates altogether or maintain their habit without the sickness.

There is no way taking morphine for a few days is going to lower your methadone tolerance.. You were taking a decent dose of morphine, as well. If anything I would say that your tolerance has gone up, not down. It is entirely possible that your usual 50mg of methadone may not be quite enough, next time you take it after all that morphine. I am on 75mg of methadone daily, and no matter how hard I have tried in the past I cannot for the life of me achieve any sort of buzz on other opiates, even after abstaining from the methadone for 3 days.
Methadone is no joke, and not to be taken lightly. i would recommend reading as much as you can about what methadone actually does. You should have done this before you started taking it, but it isn't too late.

Done is not like subs where you can stop for a day or 2 and then get high off other opiates. I couldn't get anything out of them even after going through 2-3 weeks of WD. It wasn't until the physical WD's ended after a month that morphine could be felt and even then it took a lot and didn't feel much.
The only use you will likely have for morphine is to help with WD symptoms but that is VERY dangerous b/c if you keep taking it you will be hooked on the morphine way before the methadone WD is over and then you will be right back on done or using every day.
Methadone is a deathly serious drug. Unless you had a major addiction issue prior to starting methadone you made a very poor decision. I'm not trying to rag on you as I made the mistake myself.
Most people I know on methadone have never been able to quit. Many of them have been on MMT for over a decade. You need to take it very seriously if you ever want to be able to live without it at some point.
The best thing you can do is forget about chasing the high. That part of your life should be over. You are now tolerant of methadone which has made you tolerant to all opiates/oids. If you try to take more methadone or other opiates you will just raise the tolerance even more and not get a lot of highs out of it anyway.
You have to decide if you want to be on MMT the rest of your life, or try to get better and have a real life in the future. As much as you have likely looked down on people in 12 step programs (I did for years too) they are about the only thing that can save you from taking the drugs for life.
Get your mind right and you can be better off. The only people I have ever seen successfully quit is through NA/AA meetings and a solid program to taper off of methadone and either kick that or switch to suboxone and taper that down til you can kick.
It can't be done by willpower alone, or by kicking the done alone. You will just relapse like everyone else.

I found that it actually worked, the morphine got me high for the 4 days i took it usually about 200mg through out each day. Then after the 4 day methadone free, i took 40mg of done and really felt great, i actually got high. Before the 4 days off it it would have taken me 60mg. But I dont take methadone everyday, i like to switch it up and take morph or OCs or just go days taking just benzos.
