Will Suboxone allow me to sleep during heroin withdrawal?

I was hoping to get some answers or information about using suboxone to kick heroin. I know all about precipitated withdrawal and know to wait until i am pretty sick before taking the suboxone. But after taking it, im wondering if the suboxone will allow me to get some sleep. the one symptom of heroin withdrawal that i am never able to get through is the no sleep issue. i could handle all the aches and pains and being teary eyed and snot faced as long as i could sleep, but as we all know, sleep is a rare thing when detoxing from heroin.

Suboxone has a half life much longer than Heroin and will result in serious withdrawal when th time comes. I do recommend it as you can get relief for about $9 a day versus what you spend on H. I did it. You will sleep better for sure. Depending on the amount of H and how you took it you will need to determine the dose that is right for you. 8mg sublingual is usually right. It will cover all your receptors and you will feel great while on it. I was on it for a year and a half. Not recommended! Use it for 6 months and then taper off ... 8mg to 7 or 6mgs for 2 weeks to 4mgs for 2 weeks to 2mgs for 2 weeks then 1mg for 2 weeks then every other day if possible for 2 weeks then 1mg every other day for 2 weeks then switch to Kratum in pill form or leaf form via tea. After 2 to 3 weeks you are clean and can slow down the Kratum. Do not jump off too soon or you will go through 2 months of listlessness, depression, no quality sleep and sore body parts.

I used it to kick my oxy habit, which was relatively small, even though it was a two year run. One 8mg strip got two of us off oxy relatively pain free in one week. Our taper looked like this: 1mg-1-.5-.5-.5-.25-.25- nothing. Day 5 off sub was the toughest for me. This was from a roughly 60mg/day oxy habit, so adjust accordingly. Be sure not to take more sub than you need to. Start with 1-2mg and adjust if you need more relief from WD. You will sleep fine on sub, and we slept ok coming off it too. Early waking has been the toughest problem in terms of sleep.

suboxone is notoriously known to keep you up at night time and unable to sleep, it gives you a lot of stimulation, thats why its best not to take suboxone after 6pm,or u will have trouble getting to sleep, until u get used to suboxone. when i first got on suboxone, i took my dose at 8pm, and couldnt sleep till 3-4 am, this was constant, until i started getting tolerant to it and effects went away, and dosed earlier in the evening

The first day I was supposed to start my suboxone, I was so worried about precipitated withdrawals it had been almost 12 hours still I used last, but I still was afraid to take my sub, even though I felt like crap.
I just went to sleep and planned on taking my first dose the next day.
I woke up @ 5 in the morning, kicking bad, unable to fall back asleep, so I decided to just take a quarter of an 8mg Suboxone strip. I fell back asleep within the next 10 minutes.
So yeah, It made me sleep. :)

You are really just replacing one opiate with another. As long as you realise you will still be sick when you stop the sub. How sick depends on how much sub you take and for how long you keep taking it. But you should have an easier time than if you just stopped the h "cold chicken" as they say.
