Opioids will pseudoephedrine work if I get too "sedated" on a 25mcg fent patch?

I may be picking up a 25mcg fent patch. I have no fentanyl experience, however I have used other potent opioids such as oxycodone, hydromorphone, and heroin. I am aware of fentanyl's potency and I don't want to od.

I can handle 120mg oxycodone (oral) with a couple benzos.

In case I get too sedated to the point where I'm worried I'm thinking of picking up some pseudoephedrine from the pharmacy (since I have no immediate access to any other stimulants - and the vicks inhaler in canada contains menthol+camphor, not l-methamphetamine). Would this be enough to wake me up, so to speak?

As we mentioned in your BDD thread, pseudoephedrine is a pretty crappy stimulant, but for some people it does work (when I didn't have any amphetamine tolerance I would notice I felt more awake after taking 120mg pseudoephedrine, although this is no longer the case).

I would recommend drinking coffee, an energy drink or even a caffeine pill such as No-Doz to keep you awake while you're on the fentanyl. 80 - 100mg of caffeine should do the trick.

NT covered it pretty well. But just to add, in the unfortunate case of you taking too much fentanyl and potentially falling out, taking a stimulant such as psuedoephedrine, caffeine, amphetamine, etc will not bring you back from the dead.. If your opiate receptors are too saturated to the point of ODing, stimulants will not do anything to remove the excessive amount of opioids. The only thing that will bring you back will be narcan..

If you do end up getting a patch, cut it into like 8+ pieces, and suck on them one piece at a time to gauge how it will effect you. Or you can just wear the patch, but this way makes it much harder to gauge how high you will be, since it takes many hours to get to the maximum absorbtion rate, and if you get too high with the patch on, simply taking it off will not just make you not OD, since the fentanyl will be in yoru skin and still absorbing for a while despite taking the patch off.

Fentanyl is very powerful, so start very small and tread carefully.

Pseudoephedrine is not an opiate antagonist and will not work to reverse opiate sedation. It's a very weak stimulant, and stimulants shouldn't be a first line of defense against a potentially fatal opiate overdose.
