Will opium kill me if...

Is it okay to smoke opium while I have tonsillitis (infection of the tonsils) and am on the perscribtion antibiotic Avelox. Will it slow my recovery process or interfere with it? I can hold off smoking it and I'm not desperate for a high, but it would be REALLY nice to kill the pain in my through and I'm not supposed to take any antiinflamitories with this medication so No Tylenol or IBuprofin.
What do you think/ Is it okay?
 
Yep,I would, but if you've got tonsilitis then smoking it seems a bit stupid.Sorry, dont mean that you ARE stupid,but wont that hurt?-ALOT?? shoot it up.

Yes, smoking with tonsillitis is a VERY BAD THING, and if you think you're in pain now, I can assure you that introducing a dirty smoke will only inflame and irritate you more - so hold off for a few days, or try and score some oral pain killers... will it kill you? No, of course not, but it will keep you sicker, longer...
Oh, and don't shoot it!

If you want to kill the pain smoking opium would cause you no harm. The smoke from opium isn't really smoke at all, it is a vapor. That's why you can barely feel it when you take a hit. So, go for it....
 
Not exactly... opium smoke is, well, smoke - and while it's not as harsh as marijuana or meth, you're still inhaling the a hot gas that can contain all sorts of crap..

Opium contains (along with morphine, codeine and thebeine) tar, wax, sulfuric acid, lactic acid, soil and cellulose amongst other things. While it is definately not as bad as smoking cigs or pot it is still not good for the infection. Injecting those things might cause an infection or damage to veins. you could always make a tincture w/alcohol or just plain eat it (morphine and codeine are orally active) sure you won't get a rush but you will waist less than smoking. No i'm not joking-I've shot up opium hundreds of times BUT I guess I'm in the US now & I guess the chemical that we use at home isn't readely available here.So if you havn't got any AA & dont know how to cook it, then no I guess you shouldn't shoot opium up.
-So there you go, i stand corrected-kind of.
 
If you treat raw opium with AA (acetic anhydride) i am pretty sure that you get a 'black tar' heroin preparation (Heroin plus acetylated codeine). Here buying that chem is like a muslim asking about a crop duster, it will set off red flags! so if you can get aa using it to treat the 0 would probably make it shootable.

If anyone does have AA & is gonna use it for opium- If you dont know how to prepare it properly it can REALLY fuck you up, i cant be bothered going through the process but if are unsure, e-mail me.
 
The closest thing anyone here would have is Glacial AA which can't be used. I doubt anyone who isn't a professional chemist could get it. Of course you could synth it but I wont post that here, it's at the [drug chemistry website].

Oh, see, you forgot to mention the *tiny* detail that you don't shoot raw opium, but rather treat it with AA... speaking of - what is acetic anhydride sold as wherever it is you live (and are able to access it)? in the US it's a tightly controlled chemical - is this an OTC items overseas?
And in all honesty, you can make it yourself, it is not *THAT* difficult... but if you're going to go to the trouble of making your own AA, might as well just turn that opium into morphine or heroin...

-dont shoot raw opium-, so we all agree on this, yes?
AA is not available(in NZ OTC but if you buy opiates illegally, then you can buy it.)
It is,or was, used in photography, I have no idea how or why.
I know next to nothing about chemistry, but i think that treating the opium with the aa IS making herion.
 
Instead of telling the tonsilitis person how they can go about making some black tar h, I'll provide something that the average person can do =)
Take your opium (I assume you have a couple grams) and get the highest proof alcohol you can. I recommend using everclear, and if not everclear, use a very high proof vodka, preferable a quality brand.
Pour a glass of the spirit (About three-four ounces) and then drop the opium in, bit by bit. You will be surprised to see how soluble opium is while submerged in alcohol. After it is stirred up (there will be a little bit of the o that is insoluble) your makeshift laudanum is ready for consumption. Your amount/quality of your o will determine the potency of this drink. Remember that overdosing is a possible, so be sure to keep that in mind. best wishes.
oh yeah....if you can vaporize your o, it should not irritate you too much. however, applying a flame to the o will waste some of the drug, and the smoke will be rough, even if it tastes like heaven.
