If it really is occasional, like 50-75mg once a month with no redoses? I've been using it to help me study but have been reading about how it damages dopamine receptors. I find it a useful substance but I don't think it's worth it if it will permanently reduce the pleasure I experience in the long term.

Thanks.

I think that most receptors reset after up or down regulation. The time it takes for this to happen depends on frequency and duration of use. For example, three months on speed or hydrocodone will take three months to readjust.

Occasional cocaine use robbed me of pleasure in the sense that nothing during that period of my life even came close to measuring up to it.
I lost interest in activities i used to like because all i really wanted was to do more coke, or do those activities ON coke...
If i did coke one night i would think of almost nothing but coke for 7 days straight, and cravings continued up to 4 months after my last use.
Watching the wolf of wall street was uncomfortable for me because the timing was bad, right when i was trying to stop.

I'm 5'10" at 200lbs, Male. I was taking 320mg Methadone daily for 2 years... and I've been off of it completely for exactly 1 year now (yay me)...

I do believe that it leaves your perception on life afterwards a bit more dull.

My theory is that the Methadone morphs your opiate receptors.. leaving your endogenous opiates (Endorphins) different than before the Methadone treatment.

--- HOWEVER ---
This does appear to be getting better as time goes on.. of course, you can't walk into a forest 2 miles and not walk 2 miles out!
