It's enough people that now I feel it was the wrong decision to ever have moved here and considered this place my home.

The only reason I am not moving right now is
a) the mortgage is paid so the house represents financial security b) I absolutely love it and do not want to leave and c) my fiancé's hometown in Brazil has the highest homicide rate in the entire state, and as a visible foreigner I am not safe even walking 300 yards down the street to the local grocery store without an escort in BROAD DAYLIGHT, lest I might get robbed at gunpoint. So basically to be physically safe in that place I would have to be locked up inside the house at all times unless accompanied. No fucking thanks.

Oh I totally understand. The “Hostile Environment” policy brought in by the Tories, continued by Labour and weaponised by Reform is one of the most shameful things ever brought in by a British government.

As I say, I cannot apologise enough for the rampant xenophobia and outright racism this country is awash with.

These people are scum and in the minority… but very much a vocal - and active - minority :|

A load of stuff was sprayed on the local Indian takeaway last night, the woman was cleaning it off this morning. Someone had put "Paki go home" when the takeaway is from The South of India so it has nothing to do with The Punjabi folks, they are Tamil. People are buying into this Reform kind of logic sadly, how anyone can be told to go back home when they were born here is beyond my logic.

I have had many experiences of being judged by the colour of my skin, for ages each time I would go to a local "Hindu" temple I would have issues with being "white" & all the people there would look shocked, gossip about "the white man" & I have been asked over 10 times if I was lost, what was I doing there etc, it sucks people are that way.
I wasn't being a Cunt to you, if it came across that way I am sorry.
 
No flag / racism action in my district, but we're historically a place where migrants from the Irish onwards came and settled and (mostly) get on. We do have our fair share of idiots who might give it a go, but it probably wouldn't go down well.

In my view it all really began with that moron who attacked the kids at the Yoga class & that guy from the hotel who was found guilty for some sexual attack added fuel to the fire.
When I saw 2 guys a few nights ago putting up flags at 2:30am they gave me such a bad look, it's like they wanted me to say something or maybe be "black" so they could tell me to go back home etc.

The people who do this stuff are only a small few & they don't speak for me or people I know, when you look at the Planet & put aside tone of skin, where we are born etc EVERYONE is nothing but a smart monkey who is living on a bit of dirt that's flying through the sky, simple as that folks.

The issue with most people is they refuse to accept basic truth & add on their own tags through Ego, if everyone woke up tomorrow & for a week left all the ego games to one side & just saw Humans as simple animals who happen to share the planet with others most issues would vanish right away.
People love to think they actually are "English" or "Indian" etc when you aren't that at all, when I die I don't take part of the UK with me do I? It makes NO difference at the moment of death where I am born, what race I am, what colour my skin is etc.

That quote is so simple to understand, both sides of the drama are as bad as each other, to me anyone in Reform is as stupid as someone who waves a sign for The Socialist Workers Party (SWP)

Something is brewing though sadly & Farage is feeding it, why people cannot see through this piece of shit is beyond me, he gives out simple answers to questions he knows will sound like Music to people who have pics of Churchill in their house & love to wave flags about, I can 100% get why people are upset about Men with no papers being set loose in public though but the answer isn't in the stuff Farage is pushing.
What is going on now is not the same as Windrush & when I see slogans like "Paki go home" on the local takeaway a small part of my Soul dies. The irony is without England messing about Pakistan would never have formed so people who love Farage should learn the history of India before they talk.
 
At one time, you had to actively go out in order to encounter rampant bigots. Who were usually drowned out by more reasonable folk.

Now, you can be fed a steady diet of this bullshit without ever having to leave your house, and the deeper you get, the more toxic the bullshit. I once advocated communism (yeah, I know), but it was the nineties, mostly people laughed, and I didn't have an entire echo chamber helping me to become more and more indoctrinated.

At that time if someone had come to you with a ticket to The DPRK (North Korea) or maybe China, Cuba etc & you could go live there would you have gone?

I learned ages ago it matters not if you are "Left" or "Right" the moment you leave your own ideas & take up a system set up by someone else you have lost, you are playing "their game" & by default you are being played.
The most "far-right" & The DPRK Communist lovers are both the same in a way, any people who want Power & control over others has Mental Issues, this goes for all MP's & that type of person.

I was an edgy teenager, so my perspective was completely fucked.

China had already gone to fuck even in socialist circles and NK was infamous too. Cuba though? I probably would've, not knowing it was similarly grim. Just with added tourism. And with all the might of their state, they can't get more than three cigars in a batch to be correctly rolled.

You people who say this about China should actually go there and keep in mind its essentially the US (and by extension western worlds) biggest competitor so you read enormous amounts of anti China propaganda in the western media.

Reality is these countries most westerners speak so negatively of like China, Russia have all improved in every metric over the last 20 years and the living standards are on par if not better than allot of westerners experience. We in the west have been in decline for decades and show no signs of improvement because we dont have capable politicians (and none are in sight). They went through what are going through decades ago (not exactly but the similaritys were large) and changed course then improved massively over the last decades.

Nothing will improve for us untill the stupid money printing train ends. At that point we might get some politicians who actually look at long term outcomes instead of kicking the can down the road on important issues/decisions and taking decisions based on short term political outcomes that negatively effect us all in the long term.

Then all sit back and watch the comments section go up in flames due to all the gammons getting hot under the collar.

I can understand how as a supposed 'civilised' and relatively wealthy country we are obliged to take in our fair share of asylum seekers, where the individuals are feeling in genuine fear for their safety or lives.

But "economic migrants"?

Why can't we just send them back, if they've entered the country illegally?
 
It's not quite so simple. A considerable number of people who enter the country illegally can still claim asylum depending on their circumstances. We can't deny them that right without breaching international law. So officially they're asylum seekers, even if they're not fleeing any kind of real persecution or danger.

And we're notoriously crap at processing asylum claims; some drag on for a year or more, so we have many cases stuck in administrative limbo. Again, we can't just chuck these people back on the next dinghy. It just doesn't work like that.

Throw in the people who overstay their study visas and it gets even stickier. Still, we can and do send an increasing number of people back.

Hopefully we as a country can address the points above without going full on Oswald Mosley, but tabloid hysteria doesn't solve a thing and never has.

Westminster is just a theatre . The civil service is where the decisions are made . In my lifetime this is the worst least qualified and offensive front bench in history. 😅
