Will I get charged

I got caught taking one ecstasy pill by the police and admitted to it in sydney.
They searched me and didnt find anything cause i didnt have anything else on me.
They didnt charge me at the time and said nothing was going to happen but they took my details down.

I am now terrified that i am going to receive a court attendance notice in the mail for self administration of a prohibited substance.

Are my concerns valid? Anybody have any similar stories? Do they usually give our the notice on the spot or do they mail them?

Yeh that's what i thought. They didnt take any samples from me. They didnt find any residues or paraphernalia. They dont know it was E. I dont know that I took E - for all I know it could have been a sugar pill.

With no sample for evidence its their word against yours and although the police are more likely to be believed, I cant see it being seen by the prosecutors as in the public interest to prosecute you.

Ya I think your all set bud idk about Australia but in my part of the states the police are pretty understanding about recreational drug users
