See now I truely do have trouble sleeping and sometimes I cant even go to bed after laying there for 5 hours. I just cant stay comfortable in one position for too long.

So what would the doctor most likely give me? Would he give me any benzos? if so that would just be a +

You are more likely to get a z-drug (i.e. Zolpidem/Ambien) first. They are not that different from benzos but most people prefer benzos.

Are you guys sure I'd even get a benzo or something like ambien? Im hearing a lot about this thing called Melatonin that they could give me.

benzos are not prescribed for insomnia like that anymore.

you will most likely get either trazodone or a z-drug (zopiclone, zolpidem, etc).
If you are given a benzo, you'd probably get diazepam.

If you're lucky and your doctor is a little more old school, u may get temazepam or triazolam - but i doubt it.

You won't get xanax. Xanax isn't even a good drug for insomnia.. Just go to the doctor, and be honest about your problems.

Bluelight isn't here to tell you how to score benzos from your Dr. unfortunately.

inaccurate blanket statement - - - i am prescribed 30 temazepam 30mg monthly for chronic insomnia .
in the past i have been prescribed flurazipam and also zolpidem .

because i recognize the dangers associated with long term use, i try never to take sleepers on consequent nights.

i have melatonin and find it ineffective . sometimes i use other OTC sleep aids when i can afford to take the chance of going sleepless for a night .

ambien (zolpidem tartrate) has made a living hell out of my life . for something like 18 months i used it nightly . the quack VA psyc doc didn't heed the prescribing rules . Z drugs and benzos are not to be taken for long term . the side effects will fuck your life up if this rule is not followed .

First of all, nobody here has a crystal ball and can tell you what you will get.

Second of all, what the FUCK is up with SS posts? Has he been hacked/hijacked or something, or is he just off his tits because I swear that's the 3rd post i've seen with massive fucking text that makes no sense....?

I know i'm not that high.

you're 1 person in a nation of 300 million, sorry but benzos just aren't first line drugs for insomnia anymore. they are highly effective, but they just aren't prescribed the way they were 10 or 15 years ago.

really? i thought some of you guys had crystal balls. sorry I guess i should have never asked this.

damn some of you guys need to relax. Im curious what I may be getting prescribed and wanted to know if I could actually be getting some benzos or something.

Some people have gave me great answers in this thread so it has helped me

If it is purely just sleeping issues, there is a GREAT chance you will get a Z-Drug like Ambien or Lunesta.

If you say you're anxious, your heart races and anxiety is through the roof so you can't sleep etc. you will more than likely get a benzo. Giving you a Z-Drug would be useless in this case, so that's their next line of choice.

In that case he can only go by what you tell him, and oddly enough, doctors have no problem handing out benzos at all, which is so hypocritical. People in legitimate pain get sent home with Tylenol 3, while benzos which have the most horrible withdrawl that can downright kill you, and send you into seizures are prescribed like nothing. I am warning you man, you might really want to reconsider trying to get into benzos. Do some research on the issue, they are horribly addicting, and have the WORST withdrawl of anything. PAWS can last for over a year after addiction to them

Im not really trying to get anything. Just want to know what i could be getting. I think it is anxiety and stress not letting me sleep though. My mind is always racing about mostly the bad things in my life and what could go wrong tomorrow.

lol at whatever the fuck is going on with Stay Sedated, part of me hopes he's just fucked out of his mind, it'd be jut boring if his account was hacked.

From PERSONAL EXPERIENCE:
You'll be given Ambien first. If thats not working then they will begin to question things like anxiety/depression. That's when they will go with something like xanax for during the day and maybe trazadone at night, or suggest you try zoloft or another ssri or snri for anxiety/depression relief (though this can weeks to actually start having any effect)

If you ave no anxiety during the day, AND ambien or lunesta is not working then they will probably go with something like clonazepam or temapzepam to be taken at night. Outside of those two they would probably have you try an atypical antipsychotic or another of the slightly different antidepressants, Seroquel (anti-psychotic) should knock you out, or Mirtazipine (antidepressant) should exhibit a similar effect.

They will not RX you melatonin because its not an Rx drug. They can suggest you try it. But then its just up to you to go to the pharmacy /walgreens/cvs/rite-aid/ whatever to pick it up. If doing that, try unisom (doxylamine succinate) and or benadryl (diphenhydramine) Both are anti-histamines meant to help you fall asleep.
