does it matter
Say I have pills of Etizolam that are 1mg but I require only 0.5mg for anxiety reasons will an even cut of a pill give roughly half the required amount or will the active ingredient be randomly distributed inside the binder?

Im guessing crushing wont give an equal amount.

I would think since they arent time release or ER pills that half a pill = half a dose. If you have access to a small enough scale, you could weight the pill, grind it, then take half, if you are that worried about active drug distribution being uneven in its binder. im not, and im also aware that if, in the highly unlikely event, a mfg fucked up and made a batch of 'bad' pills, I am not going to know until I ingest it.

If you split it equally the difference in dose will be around .5mg, and the variance of the dose will be unnoticeable and won't effect the therapeutic effects of the drug.

Ok thanks guys. Was not really worried about having too much, but would much rather only take what I need and waste less. Was just curious whether one portion of a pill could contain the majority of the active ingredient and another part containing much less.

If it is a legitimately made pill then halving it will give you half the dose, I've not heard of fake etizolams so you should be fine

Yeah got real ones, but ive also got a small amount of 'vendor pressed' 2mg pills. Im guessing the same rule wouldnt apply for these

^ vendor pressed pills are less likely to be evenly distributed than medicine-standard pills. they might be, but it's tricky evenly mixing powders, so assume there may be some variation.

If it were an actual REAL pharmaceutical made pill, I'd say yes, halving it will mean equal doses, ESPECIALLY if the pill is scored.

Etizolam though, is notorious for being faked, even having the vendors press them into the foreign pharmaceutical made Etilaam or whatever it's called, so I wouldn't put much faith into equal dosing with etizolam, but other normal drugs, yeah I'd say it's fine.

there are a few pills, like exalgo ER, where the active ingredient (hydromorphone in this case) is in one part of the pill (the white part), and the black half of the pill is wholly inactive ingredients. Splitting one of those in half along its edge, rather than across the face, would result in one half containing nothing and the other half containing all the active drug. Pills like those are the exception rather than the rule.
