I attempted to post this in Other Drugs but my phone does not give me an option to choose a thread prefix so I thought I would post here and have it moved accordingly. Thank you.

I have been taking hydrocodone for about a year when I can get pills. I never buy them but my mother (who I live with) as well as my grandma who lives in my neighborhood both get a pretty large prescription monthly. So my supply is limited to any given to me or whatever I can snag when the bottle is somewhere I can find it (I still only take about 10 from the bottle if I get the opportunity.) I probably haven't had the opportunity to use for more than 10 days straight at a dose of no more than 30mg once a day. Well this month I have had the opportunity to get a good bit of hydrocodone, percocets, and oxycontin. For the first week I only had hydros and used about 40mg each night. The two weeks after that I was at about 22.5mg of hydrocodone taken at the same time as 20-30 mg of oxycodone. The past three days I have taken 60 mg of oxycontin each evening. I had a talk with my mother this evening and told her about my concerns for my growing addiction and asked her to keep all pain pills out of the house. She was very happy that I confronted the problem early on and our conversation went really well. Although I obviously want to keep taking them, addiction runs furiously on both sides of my blood line and I know what I'd be risking and I'm not willing to do that. Anyways, I know there have been many questions concerning withdrawal, but I am wondering if in my specific situation whether or not I should expect to go through bad withdrawals/any at all? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I'd say that you will likely feel some discomfort since you had a 3 week long binge right? It would feel way worse if you had taken oxycontin for those weeks, but being it was mainly hydro and percs it shouldn't be unbearable. You may have some loose bowels so keep some loperamide around if you need it.

I'm glad you made this decision to stop it now, very smart move! It's great you opened up to your mom, told her the truth and she was understanding about it.

Thank you so much for your reply. TMI ALERT: Is it gross that I'm looking forward to loose bowel movements after all of the constipation? Haha. My husband knows I enjoy pills occasionally for recreation, but not the extent really. He also does not have a very good understanding of addiction as he has nothing close to an addictive personality nor any family members who are addicts. Either way, he knows about all of the problems with addiction my family faces and is an incredibly loving, understanding, and supportive man so I am also planning on telling him tonight as well. I know I need as much support as possible and since he will be around forever I need to make sure he can watch my back and look out for any signs of me beginning to struggle or threats that may cause me to do so. I am already a little depressed about not using anymore, but am very proud of myself for catching and stopping it early. I'm feeling very confident about my future.

I get sick after 3 or 4 days of shooting dope and coke much less 3 weeks man.

And if you ever wonder if you are going to have withdrawals...abstain from use for 12 hours and you'll know a definite answer :)
