Opioids Will I die?

Okay, I'm new to this forum and I'd like to say hi. I have been a lurker for several years reading posts in order to keep myself safe.

Anyways, on to the point. I'm no newbie when it comes to drugs, opiates especially. Although (don't judge me) I have fallen into an addiction, Methadone... 10mg to be exact (Yeah I know it's a small dose) every time I take it I get fairly high and I feel good mostly all day long. The highest I have ever went per day was 20mg and that had me nodding to the point where I passed out in my bed with my legs hanging off wearing a winter coat...

So, here it goes. I have been taking Methadone almost once a day for a little over a year. I didn't take it for the last three days so it could get out of my system so I could get fucked up on booze yesterday. Well, yesterday I started drinking at around 5pm, started with three beers back to back and then got a fifth of Black Velvet in which I'm sure I killed at least a pint by myself. I didn't stop drinking until about 11pm. Had no sleep all night because I think I'm feeling the withdrawals come on. I read up on it and it seems that it would take me at least 11 hours to get the alcohol out of my system completely.

Will I be safe if I take my 10mg Methadone right now? Or how long should I wait today to take it? Help is direly needed.
 
I would say at 10mg you're safe.
On the NHS (National Health Service...main healthcare provider here in the UK...I'm a trainee nurse) it tells us to must NEVER administer Methadone to patient who appear to be intoxicated with opiates, benzo's or alcohol.
If you feel you are withdrawing, you will be fine talking the methadone as long as you don't feel "tipsy" still.
 
It would be fine as long as your not acutly drunk. The next morning alcohals depressant effects are basically gone. Hope your feeling better op.
 
Thank you guys for replying. Love this place. Anyways I waited it out to be safe about it. I just took it I'll report back in a few hours on the come up.
 
I'm sure you already know this, but you shouldn't be drinking alcohol at all on methadone. Any CNS depressant mixed with methadone can cause you to stop breathing, you'll usually be fine mixing a few beers with low dose methadone, but it's really not worth the risk. As people have died from mixing the same amount of methadone they're used to with alcohol. You did the right thing stopping methadone for 3 days before you drank though, and that's what stopped you from having any problems, just warning you if you decide to drink whilst still on methadone.
 
Update: I took the 10mg and got decently high. I had no problems with breathing at all whatsoever and have stopped withdrawing. It's now 11:36 and I have taken another 5mg. Everything seems to be fine. Thanks for the help guys.
