Will any amount of valium get me to where I want to be?

I am experienced with xanax and kps and I recently have come in contact with a scripts worth of Valium. Two nights ago I took 20 mgs worth (they are the yellow 5's) after a bit I felt very heavy and tired but with no mood lift or stress relive like xanax and klonopin.
I have read a lot of people suggesting 30 to 40 mgs for a more pleasant experience but if I felt practically no positive effects with the 20 mg dose I am wondering if it is worth it.
I am a fairly big guy 6'1'' 205 lbs so maybe that has an influence as well on the dosage I may need.
So what do you guys think? Should I get better results with more or will it just make me sluggish and tired?

People's Benzo preference seems to be rather subjective, but personally I love Diazepam (likely because one of it's metabolites, however small, is Temazepam which gives the initial lushness for me).

Take into account that 0.5mg of Alprazolam is equivalent to 10mg of Diazepam. So depending on how much Alprazolam you take you may need to take more.

If your experience means a current tolerance, you will certainly need more than 20mg. I would say go for 40mg next time. You can't feel the 20mg very much, but also that's only half of what is the popular dose for recreation.

What was your tolerance to Clonazepam and Alprazolam. I could more accurately answer your question if you could provide that by using an equivalence table.

I haven't taken any benzos for atleast 6 months until now. I used to take a couple 1 mg xanax and feel great. I forget the dosage of kp I used to take though.

I imagine from how you're describing things that diazepam isn't the benzo for you. 20 mg diazepam is already a high dosage.
It doesn't matter if you're a big guy that makes no difference with benzos.

But what the hell, push the envelope & maybe you'll be able to come back & tell us how high u didn't get.

Hopefully that wont be the case, I just took 40 mgs 10 minutes ago and I already feel it more then the other night when i took half the dose. But I think you are right that Valium is not the benzo for me.

20mg a big dose??? That is not a big dose. I was given that every 4 hours in rehab and prescribed x4 times that dose. I know that I had a tolerance but still 20mg is quite a low dose for someone trying to get "high" on benzodiazepines (the only high I experience is from the relief of anxiety. No euphoria or anything)

If you were taking a couple 1mg Xanax (2mg) I would suggest 40mg (0.5mg alprazolam = 10mg diazepam).

I find Diazepam to be one of the weaker benzodiazepines but some say they prefer it. I'd rather have some clonazepam/alprazolam. Remember that the effects are a little different

^That is what i meant. 20 mg is low dose for people looking for a recreational effect but otherwise it's quite a high dosage.

makes sense, thanks. I think 40 mgs hit the spot I am feeling quite wonderful as it is beginning to kick in.

Alright so after 40 mgs I must say Valium is not the benzo for me. Absolutely no mood lift what so ever. Just sedation. Can't see why so many prefer it over the others, even lorazapam is more enjoyable to me.

I'm in the same boat as you. I prefer other benzodiazepines like alprazolam and conazepam over diazepam. It just doesn't do it for me. It makes me a little drowsy, my muscles are relaxed but I can't get anymore than that no matter how much more I take.

You have to be tolerant with benzo to feel "pleasant", euphoria... otherwise you will just feel tired and you will go to bed to sleep

When it comes to Benzos, euphoria is more likely to be felt when you suffer from chronic Anxiety / stress / panic attacks et al. because the shear feeling of being calm and relaxed can be euphoric in itself.

As for having to be tolerant to feel "pleasant euphoria", I don't understand how that would be the case.
I would agree that being used to and perceptive to the effects of Benzos is more likely to let you notice any degree of euphoria, as they're a rather subtle class of substances.

On the other hand, Nimetazepam will provide you with euphoria regardless of what Benzos do it / don't do it for you, and a absolutely lush amount at that! ♥~[^-^]~♥
They're not called "Happy 5's" for nothing =D

This is true too. I've given my friend a 10 mg diazepam after him telling me he pinched a 'white valium' off his mum. prob was 2 mg! He just passed out in 10 mins like i'd given him chloral hydrate or a qualude or something!=D
