Will A week of low dose suboxone lower my opana tolerance?

The title pretty much says it. I want to be safe when I dose my opana next week... So how strong is opana in comparison to suboxone? Thanks in advance!

No.

Even if you abstain completely for a week, your tolerance won't drop substantially. Buprenorphine is more potent mg:mg than oxymorphone anyway until you hit its ceiling dose for mu agonism which is between 2 and 4mg. A low does of buprenorphine would be in the µg range.

I'm going to be using 1 mg a day for a week unless 1 mg doesn't work then I will go up little by little from there.

How much stronger is it?.

Thanks.

1mg is NOT a low dose. It might be lower than your oxymorphone but I have no idea because you didn't say your dose or route of administration. Here is a good article explaining the difficulties of converting between full agonists like oxymorphone and partial agonists like burpenorphine.

I snort my dose. 40-60mg a day. I get 2 30s a day. I snort because I use less and the pain relief is better plus I take Roxi for bt pain. This is not for the long term just a solution for a week. I'm wondering if it's worth it. I think 1mg would be a good place to start.

it'll probably hold you pretty well but your tolerance is not going to drop appreciably in a week with or without buprenorphine.

Cane2theLeft, prevails again with accurate knowledge. I've used bupeprenorphine strategically to endure times when either 1. My DOC was not supplied. 2. My financial burden for my DOC was getting too significant. 3. My tolerance to my DOC was increasing too rapidly.

It helps only to circumvent withdrawal symptoms, one week of bupeprenorphine will not do too much to lower your tolerance. It was only when I took almost a month break did I notice I needed a lower doseage of my DOC to give me effective pain management (evidence enough for lower tolerance)

It may be worth it, however, it's up to you if you want to suffer a week without your DOC. Bupeprenorphine is hardly a miracle for opiate tolerance.

Just MAKE SURE you're waited long enough before dosing the bupe. You probably already know this but in case you don't, look into it. You do NOT want precipitated withdrawals.

If you use 1mg of buprenorphine for 4 days and then go a little over two days wihtout any, you will get higher off the opana than normal. using buprenorphine will actually raise your tolerance before lowering it unfortunately. Buprenorphone has a very long half life so dose as least often as possible, and the more it builds in your system, the more it blocks your opiate receptors.

Buprenorphine isn't going to lower your tolerance at all. And you think opiate tolerance drops in as little as a week? Where do you get your info from?

How do you think you are going to deal with the pain you are suffering with only 1mg of buprenorphine a day if you are taking two 30mg Opana per day + oxycodone for breakthrough pain or are you just doing them recreationally?

I got rid of the sub and got more fent so it's covered. I was worried about my pain not being managed properly.

As for the poster above you.. I don't use sub, hence why I was asking. I am aware that a week off of my regular Meds doesn't lower my tolerance much at all. <snip> unnecessary

stay clean for 24 hours then do rapid detox with naltrexone, wait another 24 hours and start with .25 mg bupe

doing it any other way is just going to raise your tolerance, you can use low dose bupe to taper to ease withdrawal, but just doing bupe then going back to your DOC is only going to raise your tolerance no matter how you do it
