Bupe Will 20mg lope earlier today cause subutex precipitated withdrawal?

Hey there,
Title pretty much says it all. So I am a regular suboxone patient. I have been in the program for a while. Anyway, I ran out on saturday, and when I was feeling shitty earlier today, I took 20mg of loperamide (imodium) to help with the physical withdrawal. I can't say if it worked too well, because I still feel on edge and kind of shitty. Anyway, low and behold one of my friends was able to spot me with a 8mg subutex about 2 hours after I took the loperamide.

I took the loperamide at 5pm (its 11:20pm for me atm) in a 20mg dose. Would I be okay to take the subutex? I can't remember the last time I took any loperamide, its definitely not something I do on a daily basis that would be built up in my system.

Thanks for the help.

Well I just took ~1mg or so. I'll report back on what happens so people know for future cases.

The bupe will displace the loperamide and may very well result in precipitated withdrawal, however if it does occur it will be limited to the PNS (diarrhea and muscle aches) as loperamide can't cross the BBB (or at least gets pushed right back out when it does). As you are a regular bupe patient the effects from your dose on Sat. (and previous build-up) probably haven't yet worn off so the loperamide might not have done that much and it would be okay to take more bupe. I'd personally recommend waiting until you were definitely feeling the physical withdrawal again, but as you've done it already hopefully it all works out.

Thank you for your advice. That's a good point about the bupe build up in my system. I doubt the loperamide would have been able to do much, as I usually take 8mgs a day of bupe.

Anyway, I haven't been able to really tell how it's affecting me yet. As I mentioned earlier I took around ~1mg. I filled my vyvanse script today, and I don't have much tolerance these days so the amps are making it hard to tell how the subutex is working. I'll keep ya'll updated!

The pwd would have hit by now. You'll be fine. 8mg of bupe a day is pretty huge as well.

I think you're right. I dosed the last 7 or so mg a couple of minutes ago. I guess this goes to show that you usually won't get PWDs from loperamide if you haven't been taking it for a long time, although everyone's brain chemistry is different, so I could be wrong.

I tried looking everywhere on the web/forums and couldn't find much conclusive about this. What I found from reading posts is that PWDs can happen when you've been taking lope for a while at doses of 50+ or so, because it apparently builds up and works kind of like methadone. And from what other people have said (in addition to my own responses to subs after lope) it's usually pretty safe to take lope here and there during suboxone maintenance.

Always be careful tho.

I once took about 80mgs of lope when I was trying to stretch out my subutex supply. It took me almost out of w/d but I didn't feel great. Then my friend came home with some cocaine. Well if I'm going to do coke then I want to feel completely at base if not high on my subutex, because uppers+dopesick=fuck that. So I was wondering the same thing... I did a quarter of sub and it made me slightly sicker. So I did another quarter. Couldn't tell if I was getting better or worse, so I took another. Then I felt fine. What happened is the first 2mgs of bupe knocked the lope off my receptors sites and since lope is a full agonist, I went deeper into w/ds. So I had to take more bupe to compensate. Normally I take around 8 mgs a day to hold me. So if I were to displace the lope that was holding me, I would have to take enough bupe to do that. Lope is a very strong opiate, and if I were dependent on a full agonist, then no amount of bupe would have worked, but since I am dependent on bupe my receptors are used to it. So if I were to kick the lope off my receptors, I would have to take enough bupe to hold me.

Understand? I'm sorry I am having a difficult time putting this into words right now.

i was taking loperamide regularly (daily) for months after suboxone. VERY high doses, too. anyway, i switched back to suboxone with absolutely no PWD, none.

i dosed .25mg and waited a half hour and repeated that until i reached 4mg. everything was totally peachy.

once the loperamide was kicked off the intestinal receptors and replaced by bupe, i did have to shit, but that's all.
i guess you could call that PWD but it felt really good to be honest.
not one drop of sweat or ache, nothing.
in fact, i felt MUCH better.
fuck loperamide.

but yes, no PWD at all for me.

Hi i h ave lowered my dose from 8mg gradually over 2 weeks and today is my first day on zero, towards the end i went 0.8 2 days 0.4 two days 0.2 for another 2 days, iv jumped off today and have to say i feel a lot better than the previous week, not sure if i dropped 2 quick. Imm still having WD's but they seem to be getting less. How long ccan i expect this to carrry on>? I have mainly been using Ketamine to lower my wd's but im out of money now...:( iv got loperamide for dihorea, clonidine for hypertension a few diaz (runnnin out) i also have diclofenac (not sure how much tht helps) and a few other fings....oh i have been drinking vodka quite heavily over the lkast few days cos iv felt so horrible and bed ridden. any help wud b great. cheers

I've taken bupe shortly after lope (like an hour later) and I was already in very early stage bupe w/d at the time and I didnt have any precip w/d. the sub made my w/d go away, it didn't make it worse. I was just happy to have bupe in my system. I think you are fine to do this, since you are already on bupe maintenance you would have to be off it for long enough for it to leave your system. it's like when you do dope on bupe maintenance, if you only do it for a day you can take sub 12 hours later and be fine, but if you dope for 3 days you'll need to wait atleast 24 hours before taking sub again, a lesson I learned the hard way last month.

ketamine tolerance is a bitch. you should try spacing it out more, after a certain point it just becomes wasteful

I have been taking 30mg lope along with my .5mg bupe dose in teh morning and it works way better than bupe alone (during the transitional phase where I usually feel like SHIT for 3 days comign from a dope binge). No issues here and contrary tohow I thought it would work, its working pretty good doing this.

^.5mg of bupe is a low enough dose that it wouldn't cause (substantial) precipitated withdrawal anyway, taken with full agonists, it would have an additive effect as you've found.

Contrary to what allegator said, sufficient doses of loperamide certainly produce central effects and in large enough doses WILL undoubtedly cause precipitated withdrawal if enough bupe is consumed.

Down, it takes about 2 hours for loperamide to kick in so there probably wasn't even enough in your system yet to POSSIBLY cause P-W/D and that is assuming the dose of loperamide was large enough to produce central effects AND the bupe dose was large enough to produce P-W/D.

This is my 3rd day on 0,mg Subutex..still feel like shit (skeleton feels like ice) dunno how long this will last but im not gonna let it break ne, i managed to get some 2meo-ketamine and am trying to space out the use to keep m,e from being bed ridden i also have loperamide still + bit of vodka n weed. jus worried how long these symptoms may last?! cheers
oh and i also have some phenazepam........advice on use would be appreciated, i been smokin 1-2mg bits over foil
