So a few months ago I took 5 tylenol 3's, and it was awesome for about 3 hours, until I suddenly felt sick to my stomach and my ears started ringing super loud to the point where I couldn't hear anything. Then my vision went out and My muscles got kind of droopy. I was at school and I ended up with my face on my desk, squirming around mumbling I felt sick, not being able to see or hear or talk properly. It lasted maybe about 3-5 minutes, and then slowly my hearing returned, then my vision, until I was normal again. But now my buzz was gone and I just felt tired and itchy. It was my first time with codeine, I'd only ever done oxycodone before. So I figured I'd just taken too much for my first time (Im a 17 y.o 120 lb female). Since then I've taken 3 or 4 T3's a few times and felt good, no weird side effects. But then last night I didnt have much food in my stomach and I took 3, and I felt a pain in my lower right rib cage that got worse and worse until it spread to both sides of my lower rib cage, and then the same weird reaction happened! After I was able to see and hear and talk again, the pain was completely gone. Has this ever happened to anyone else?? What could it be?

Yah that's what i thought at first too, but it doesn't make sense that I would just have a reaction twice when ive done it many other times without any reaction.

Sounds like you just got sick from taking opiates. Super common side effects like nausea, being tired, and itchy.

I have a question though, can you take 5 Tylenol (the regular kind, over the counter stuff) without getting sick? Cause if you can, then that means it's the codeine making you sick. If the Tylenol is what is making you sick, then consider doing a cold-water extraction next time. (UTFSE for this one)

When you did Oxycodone, what form was it in? OC? Percs? I ask because I'm wondering if the Oxycodone had APAP with it.

Next time, when you take the T3's, eat a snack before hand. I LOVE granola bars for pill snacks. They are nice and light, not too sweet or greasy, so they don't make you nauseous, but they help fill your stomach and start the digestion/metabolism process so your body can start digesting them pills.

Also for the itch, take an antihistamine about 20 minutes before you take the codeine. Codeine makes me SUPER itchy, and Benadryl or any other allergy medicine containing an antihistamine fixes that wonderfully. So just take one pill, or whatever the recommended dose of the allergy medicine is, and you're set. Also, Benadryl is a good opiate potentiator (or so the BL guide says) so two birds with one pill!
