Some people smoke weed everyday, and never see a problem with it, I see it differently. Sure it is physically harmless, not addicting, and doesn't inhibit you ability to drive. But limiting weed consumption is something all people should do.
Moderation: The act of limiting a certain activity, so to not over do it. Many drug users(including myself), try to stick by moderation when it comes to alcohol, other drugs, or even certain activities . But why with weed people make an exception? I used to think this way, that I could smoke weed all the time and never experience any adverse effects. But It was all an illusion, and looking back on it, weed has really held me back. Weed can create anxiety, laziness, and stupidity, so using it at the right time is key. I don't know how many times I just smoked weed at parties and was so unsocial because of how baked I was. Or how many times I smoked weed before doing school work and either didn't do it, or couldn't concentrate on it. Or how many times I smoked weed and tried to complete normal tasks, and do so so inefficently and stupid. Public places with weed are just a no-go. Going to a resturant or movie theatre and trying to interact with people, many seem unfocused and stupid. Another issue I have is sometimes you can get so high with your friends, that you just sit in the room, so baked that no one even talks.
But out of all those negatives, they become much more pronounced once you start making weed a multiple times a day thing. All day stoners will often wake up with a bowl and go to work or school. Followed by them being unfunctional in the work they have to do for the rest of the day, and espeically once they burn out. Then an all day stoner may sneak a puff on their lunch break, or in between classes. How can anyone think this is a responsible thing to do? Not only does it make you worse at your work, but you can risk your job, or expulsion. It is a lie that anyone can study high, especially math, I know I'm not the only one. Then the all day smoker goes home and continues to be unproductive if so chooses and may just hit the bong all day. Not to mention these type of tokers can spend an unreasonable amount of money on their weed. Many people I know spend $80 a week on pot when their only making $150-$200. How can that be intelligent or responsible in any way? Of course the law is another matter, as with all drugs, the more you do them the more likely you will be caught, weed is no exception. Living out your days high is a waste of your resources, when it comes to money, and your productivity.
So when should one use weed? Well thats up to you. The way I use weed, is when my day is through and I got nothing else to do but kick back. Then Ill light up a solid bowl. Or end the end of a chill night with my friends, well share a nice blunt. Not to mention I love using weed with other drugs, but not with psychedelics. THC is a drug, and should be used in moderation like the others. Even though I never smoked weed all day it did damage my life in some ways. For me, it held me back with all the anxeity and self isolation it put me into. I still smoke weed, I really do, on a weekly basis. I spend approximatly $20 a month, and I only burn at certain times with friends, and on the rare occasion by myself.
In the end of the day THC is just like any other drug, in the sense that it must be used in moderation. You can lie to yourself all you want and say weed has no harmful effects. And yes, Weed has no effect on the body, but it can have an affect on your mind and your habits if you let it. Sure it is damn nice to chill, sit back and burn a nice joint at the end of a party. And yes it may be one of the few drugs that will have no physical effects no matter how many times you doit. But limiting your weed smoking is really the only way to be a true responsible drug user.
