Why there won’t be any cannabis at the First Church of Cannabis’s first service in Indiana

The First Church of Cannabis will host its inaugural service on Wednesday, but don’t expect any cannabis. The church’s founder Bill Levin said on Tuesday that the church will not include the drug also known as marijuana due to advance warnings from local law enforcement.

Marijuana is currently illegal in Indiana for both medical and recreational use, so the church could test the application of the state’s new religious freedom law. Marion County prosecutor Terry Curry and Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Chief Rick Hite held a news conference on June 26 to warn about arrests if people possess marijuana.

Levin said he does not want the question of marijuana possession to be considered in criminal court because he thinks the church will have a better chance of fighting in civil court.

“We will not be dragged into criminal court for their advantage. We will meet them in a civil court where the laws are clear about religious persecution,” he wrote on Facebook. “We do not start fights. We Finish Them!”

Cannibis is listed as the church’s sacrament in its doctrine, and Levin said the church will plan to grow hemp, though it will not buy or sell marijuana. Marijuana is a nickname for a strain of cannabis and both come from the hemp plant.

“I’m sorry, we have religious persecution here,” Levin told The Washington Post on Tuesday.

Well if someone can legally mutilate a baby boy's penis thanks to this so-called fucking "freedom" then I'm sure they can allow people to use medicinal cannabis under the same "freedom" so many use to justify butchering baby boys.

In the US, Christianity is sometimes synonymous with "religion", and conservatives sometimes pass laws considering only this limited definition.
So, it feels good to me that others are rising up and using "religious exemptions" to pursue freedom of consciousness.

Yea! This article has nothing to do with foreskin but I'm going to write in red letters about something totally off topic...seriously wtf is wrong with you? Do you not have a snozzle and want one? Or what? It's great to be passionate about something but give it a fucking rest.

medicine cabinet no personal attack is needed, and he makes a great point.

My friend wanted to go to this, and I live in Indianapolis, but sleep was more important for me. His group talked themselves out if going. I read it was going to be packed, and many were expected to attend outside in support, some in protest, some just to see.

Circumcision causes serious psychological damage

Serious psychological damage causes addiction.

Go figure before you judge people.

^ It's not really about judging people, I think (hope).
Medicine cabinet's main point is probably (or should be) that circumcision is not relevant to this article.
And it is hard to disagree with him about this.
Though he did not say it as kindly as he could (or should) have, I get the feeling that people are tired of you comments about circumcision in so many threads, unrelated to the main content of the thread.
While I am sympathetic to your viewpoint that genital mutilation of babies is wrong, I also think that you would do better here (in terms of others reading your comments and actually considering them deeply) if you could comment on the articles. Or, maybe another way of saying this is that you seem to see circumcision as the root of problems everywhere. I am pretty sure that most people would say that you are looking only for that, so you see it everywhere. But, really, there are a lot of messed up things done to people, and to say that circumcision is the root of all problems seems to miss the point.

Now, let's get back to discussing the article, and the issues immediately surrounding it.
This most definitely does not include circumcision (or even the discussion of whether circumcision is related to the article - I will heartily proclaim that it is not).
If Flynnal would like to discuss this via pm, I am happy to oblige.
But let's save the threads for comments that relate to the articles, please.

^Welcome to BL, but I must say, you are not off to a good start.
If you want to insult people, you should go elsewhere.
And this is especially true because you have no idea of the larger picture, which involves Flynnal making comments involving circumcision in every single thread, regardless of topic.
So, please tone down your insults and do not attack anyone, and I suggest getting a feel for what goes on here, and gathering more information, before posting angrily.
