(answered) Why isn't synthesis discussion allowed on Bluelight?

...even on a totally theoretical level. I don't resent it, I'm just interested as to know why synthesis discussion is totally banned here.

What Maz said.To keep members and the site safe a number of rules are about stopping Bluelight from becoming a hub of illegal activity.

A bonus reason is that many people's interest in synthesis exceeds their capabilities to synthesize with any degree of safety. Having a lot of synthesis information on a site that is mostly geared to general interest harm reduction would very likely result in more harm than good.

Poorly equipped, over confident, recipe following synth has to often maimed or killed. So its a legal problem, a health and safety concern, and beyond our scope.

If its a matter of harm reduction oriented extraction or other means of rendering a drug more safe it is generally allowed as Harm Reduction is the name of the game here.

No need to say 'YOU' though, as I was not asking for assistance in making drugs, I was asking a reasonable question. A response like "Bluelight does not support or condone the synthesis of illegal substances." would be far less inflammatory and more appropriate.

I was just trying to clarify what MazDan meant, wasn't anything personal.

Basically If its likely to make you look like you're taking part in any illegal activity its probably going to be against the rules... Its been a while since I thought about this, but I believe if you're incriminating yourself in anyway... including saying you're going to take drugs. Or burn a copy of windows illegally etc etc, then it'll probably get closed. (I need clarification from a mod/admin on that tbh.)

You should not take that "you" as a specific "you", its a general "you". YOU are looking a little too deep into "we are not here to help you make drugs" Its just how people usually say it. Dont take it personally.
