Why is there no generic dexedrine in Canada?

It would be pretty unlike Canada to hand an extended patent for an 80-year-old drug to a large pharmaceutical company....

Canada pulled amphetamine (namely, Adderall) off its market a few years ago due to a very small number of serious but sometimes deadly heart problems associated with its usage.

At that time in the US, the FDA chose to add a black box warning to amphetamine instead.

I get prescribed dex and have also thought why there is no generic. Possibly low demand?

I was under the impression that it was - are there not orange pills & red capsules from apotex & gsk containing dextroamphetamine sulphate salts?

The orange, diamond shape pills are GSK. Apotex doesn't produce an alternative (which seems like the only thing they don't make).
