Bupe Why is subutex making me tweaky?

For someone with a small habit and low to moderate tolerance, buprenorphine is very recreational. I'm personally on around 1mg right now and it's a great opiate high just like hydrocodone or oxycodone. This is with a suboxone film taken plugged.

To the OP, I disagree with what your doctor did. It would have been far easier to taper down off of the hydrocodone. You were only taking 22.5mg of hydrocodone a day, which is a pretty low amount for someone with a decent opiate tolerance. If you could really still get high of off 22.5mg of hydrocodone, switching to buprenorphine to taper down is overkill and a poor idea considering your tolerance. Taking subutex or suboxone to get off of opiates is for someone with a big opiate tolerance and problem, more along the lines of someone doing 80mg of oxycodone a day or similar.

I never really got "high" anymore with the dose of vic I was up to. I mainly just took it in quarters throughout the day to stay mellow and keep withdrawal at bay. I felt nice on it but not blown lol. When I take this sub (even a crumb of one) I feel blown but it also makes me feel sick.

Buprenorphine can have rather stimulating properties for some. It's derived from thebaine which is classified as a sort of stimulant( not in the sense of Amp).

I'm sure others notice this effect a swell but opiates do not sedate me per say. I get great energy from any opioid/opiate. If I take any of them close to bedtime I can forget about a decent nights sleep.

When I first started taking vicodin they did that to me but after being on them for awhile they no longer had that effect. Personally I don't like the speeding feeling because I have anxiety and the feeling of speeding kicks me into an anxiety or panic attack.

OP - i had the same experience the first time i took 2mg suboxone. it felt tweaky as fuck and very dirty. it was the only time i ever took it because of the bad experience...anxiety like crazy and my brain felt like it was that commercial with the egg and the pan. someone said maybe its because i took less than 2mg instead of more since i think the naloxone is rendered inactive at 2mg or less. Not sure how true this is but you might want to try to take 4mg or 8mg and see how you feel. A friend of mine with very low opiate tolerance had the same bad experience but then took a full 8mg and said he did not get all the same negative side effects.

BTW - As mentioned above, 3 8mg subs a day for a 22.5mg Vicodin dependence seems like overkill. Get some Kratom and some immodium...make the switch and then just ween down the Kratom and Immodium daily. Don't get addicted to the subs now. It is a very powerful opiate.

It really has nothing to do with naloxone, even if it was active orally, more of it aint gonna make you feel better under any circumstances!

Its a full on opiate antagonist!

Suboxones just a weird drug in general.
