its been a few months since ive posted here and just copped for the first time in a month and a half and wanted to comeon BL and call an assembly and bullshit with all my old peeps.

But DAMN!! this place is a ghost town and it makes me sad. I remember when this place was jumping, and no posts for a few hours? I get its Friday and people are out but still normally there would be a couple people here. so did everyone get clean and stop posting(kinda like me?) or should I go check the shrine? and where is the social thread? do we still have one of those?e

yah I remember our good ole days, as well, chinky. being a BLer for so long, I've noticed that some of the smaller sub-forums have shrunken exponentially (like Second Opinion, Film & TV, etc), while the bigger sub-forums like the Lounge, DC, and OD have still remained huge or have even grown a lil bit?

sucks cuz we used to have such an intimate crew here. honestly, I think when the Mods here finally allowed region-specific threads (like Boston Dope Thread, Chicago Dope Thread, freakin' Toledo, Ohio Dope Thread) some of my interest in this forum dropped off cuz instead of us all posting in one USA Dope Thread it was all spread out thin to lesser threads...

but that's just IMO, of course. regardless, nice seein' ya back home

Australian Drug Discussion also suffers for lack of traffic.
With so many subforums, it can be hard to keep regional drug discussions subfora pumping. People tend to post on the subjects that interest them (across the board - be it drug specific, pop culture, drugs in the media, film and tv, politics etc etc etc) and less in their regional forums, at times.
The folks in EADD are so damn lucky! Those fuckers have a forum within a forum (with all the drama and madness that goes with it, mind you)

Thanks you C for asking the question and others for speaking on the issue. I've got a few things to say. I didn't take on SMOD supervision or regular modship here for tumbleweeds, and want to do some work here.

We are working on some changes to attract new traffic here. First priority is a scorched earth war to end solicitation. That will dry up some traffic but I share the same desires and goals as you guys. Threads and posting the rules will only make this forum more constricted in what's acceptable. You can help by reporting questionable posts.

I want a thriving mix of drug and social discussion to rival EADD or ADD, but of course, baby steps first. As alasdair says, "be the change …" Start by posting more in your local threads. Aside from the blatant solicitation that I ban 1-post n00bs for (and thus is official policy; if you can't be bothered to read or understand "no sourcing," you don't need an account here, slither off to reddit), in many of them I see genuine a genuine sense of community with people who know what each other are going thru, good times and bad, and that's to be encouraged and praised.

A forum wide social thread will be coming soon among other new things, and, provided it is not abused, will hopefully become a place for people from our part of the world to talk about drugs in our part of the world as such instead of other forums filling that role de facto . I am actually very invested in trying to improve this community, and am all ears to any other suggestions. Post here or PM me.

One sad point though is I did a moderator recruitment drive to not a lot of interest. I hope next time it'll be different (PM me if you can make a very good case if you want to be mod now.)

I do think the main thing missing from this section is the lack of subjects that are open for discussion (I see the same thing to a lesser extent with ADD) - This section has several 'Dope' threads but not that much more that would generate interest or general discussion.

Music threads
Gardening Threads
What have you done or bought recently threads
What are you Eating
What are you Drinking
What are you Listening to
Watching on TV
What have you read recently or what movies have you seen that you would like to talk about or recommend to others
Fashion
Festivals and/or Events

It would only take a few of the regulars to start a couple of new threads and generate a bit of interest.
