Why is my THC tolerance so low?

So, i smoke a lot of weed, and by a lot I mean nearly everyday. I've been getting high for almost a year now. However, every time I smoke a bowl, I'll find myself getting incredibly stoned before I can even finish it. Everyone I smoke with always tells me, "Damn, you got that high from that little bit?" or "Why are you so fucked up? It was just one bowl". One thing that makes this particularly odd is that I also do a lot of drugs more intense like heroin and LSD, while a lot of hard drug users report smoking weed is too boring for them. While I do cherish the gift of a low tolerance, I'm also confused as to why this happens. Is there a reason for it? Or is THC just naturally more potent to certain people?

I'm sure its a combination of a lot of factors, but I've got a feeling you wait longer between sessions than your friends do, or they were smoking before you showed up. After a little time passes after a session people think the bud has worn off when its more like they've just adjusted to being high and they will pack another one up, but if you don't put enough distance between one bowl and the next you are going to have to smoke a LOT more to re-obtain that soaring high that you got from just 1-2 hits off the first bowl...it's much better to wait as long as you can before lighting up again, both for efficiency, quality of the high, side effects, and to avoid that burnt-out weed hangover feeling. Really, when I was smoking all day everyday I didn't even feel a quality high except for the first bowl of the day and now I enjoy weed a whole lot more if I let the effects wear off completely before trying to get high again.

Don't sweat it, just smoke at your pace, don't let peer pressure make you feel like you've got to smoke as much/often as everyone else. Smoking more just so you don't draw attention is going to end up wrecking your tolerance and get your higher than you want to be to the point of not enjoying it.

I am the same way, been smoking off and on for at least 12 years. I think it comes down to personal preference, genetics and a ton of other factors. I find that I tend to enjoy lower doses and milder highs then many of my friends. Basically, I feel content sooner then they do when getting high. That is fine with me. I also find that over time as I age none of us get as high as we used to. Because we have more responsibilities and have to be functional far more often.

I also have been around the block and tried almost everything. There have even been times when I do not enjoy weed because of dependencies on other substances. I find that I enjoy cannabis the most when I am not using anything else regularly (except maybe a beer or two a night)

I'm exactly the same. Nowadays I don't tend to be a daily smoker as I've quit tobacco (and so quit mixing it in with my green) and so don't find it anywhere near as compulsive, but I do find I get stoned very quickly when I do smoke and I was literally doing it every day. However, after the first initial strong high it seems to settle down and I felt I could continue smoking pretty much all day maintaining a consistent level.

Because you touch yourself at night. Kidding ;) It could be any of the things already mentioned, or it could just be a matter of brain chemistry. MRI testing has shown (I wish I could remember the source for this) a difference in brain activity between people, sorted by their personalities, when confronted with the same set of stimulus. There's so much variance in genetics that it's mind-boggling. Just look at how different people are, even though we're all the same species. Then there's the fact that we share 99% of our genetic code with chimpanzees and bonobos but look how different those fuckers are from the rest of us. Shit is crazy!
