Heroin Why is it so hard to hit the veins in your feet?

Whilst standing in the shower staring down at my leg-hands, I suddenly had a bright idea (they always happen in the shower don't they?); I should just start shooting up my feet, which I can see are covered in nice veins, and that way since I'm a guy and never wear anything besides shoes with socks, I'll never have to worry about track marks again!

Well I consider myself to be quite adept at administering intravenous solutions; I literally can't remember the last time I didn't register first try anywhere in my arms. However, I just tried to stick my feet, and for some reason I couldn't register once! The veins are thick and right on the surface, extremely visible and look so easy to hit, I even stretch my skin to stop them from rolling, and even though to my naked eye it looks like the needle is in the vein, no blood appears! Not to mention the feet seem really sensitive, besides the fact that they hurt 20 times more to stab or if you go to deep (I don't even wanna think about a miss), the veins are all ugly and inflamed after I try to stick them. What gives?

Am I forever destined to not move beyond my arms even though they are a very obvious spot for lay persons?

Don't even think about it, unless you like being bedridden for days at best or having a foot amputated at worst once inevitable complications arise; and in your feet they are inevitable, your body can't clear blood out of your feet like it can your arms.

You know a good spot you could use if you dont want to use your arms is under ur knee like om the back side close to the inside and I dont know why you have problems shooting in your feet I never did try maybe this sounds weird trying to explain without a visual help try doing ur technique to prevent your vein and go at a low angle and push down on your vein not like puncture it but try to lay the needle at an angle close to your skin and then when you feel like you have got it then go in sorry if its hard to understand what im saying

Simple answer because your not supposed to do it. If your forced to resort to feet shooting I'd highly suggest reconsidering your use as the weak circulation in that area makes it that much more dangerous.

Shot up in my foot once before... never again.
The site swelled up, and turned red for about a week. Not to mention I had pain in the area of the site.
It definitely wasn't because I missed or anything. I'm a great shooter, 10/10 I hit on first try.
It's just.. when you've been walking all day & your feet get sweaty its a damn breeding ground for bacteria making it easy to catch an infection or some shit you don't want.

Not worth it, imo.

Same exact fucking thing happened to me and, like you, I know I didn't miss that shit. Not something I ever plan on doing again.

Cause the veins in your feet are like the root tips of your veins like the end of a tree. They're fuckin flimsy, and shit.

Haha. Exactly.
I've been mainlining in the same damn vein for 2 1/2 years now.. it's a miracle it hasn't collapsed or just disappeared... abused that fucker on a daily basis, multiple times a day.

Yeah my go to is my left cephalic vein on my inner forearm (also been using it for a little over 2 years) and its really the only spot where I have like 2 inches of slightly dark scar tissue that I think people could notice. Not sure why, but when I'm cold that spot gets much darker than the surrounding skin.

Shit.. what are you, my twin?
I use the same vein, & yeah.. it's the only place where I have built up scar tissue.
True, it literally turns purple'ish when I'm cold. Oh, well. I dont really care. lol

However, I never wear short sleeves.. don't need people to know about what I do on my own freetime.

If you both have the same effect from similar shooting you should look into it to see if it is common, a sign of anything including possible long term damage developmen, and just even to understand the cause. Harm reduction and all

^Yeah, you guys should really look into that....;)

I'm right handed, but I have the biggest scar on my outer cepahlic on my right arm...which, I don't remember hitting with my left more than my right, but I can definitely go either way....

Yeah, that way Days! Everything on a need to know basis :)

Haha I tend to avoid short sleeves if I can, but sometimes it's just too obvious so sometimes I have to be cautious as to what angle people have of my left arm when I'm wearing short sleeves. To be honest I think the average Joe isn't looking at your arms or knows what tracks look like, but anyone who has known an addict or knows anything about IV drugs will know what's up. Can't tell em they're spider bites unless you what them to ask what gauge the spider was.

Ugh. Yeah I hate hitting in my feet. It's just so uncomfortable and then it hurts like hell just to walk if you miss or just do a lot of damage. My ex used to hit in her feet all the time, and they were just these swollen, bruised, masses of flesh.

I have the WORST veins. And I know a lot of people say that but I really do. Do you know how many people have said to me "I can hit anybody & either can't hit me & miss or it takes at least 45 mins to hit. And I'm not talking about daily use for months. If I do it(iv over 7x, & even sometimes before that it's fucking impossible,so my veins suck. I'm pretty sure it's because I have really small veins, they roll extremely easily & I've collapsed quite a few.
Of course you thought of it in the shower, your veins come out & easier to see in heat. Could never hit my feet. And it fucking hurts if you miss & your feet blow up. I knew this guy once who used to shoot in between his toes so no one could see. Don't know how the fuck he did it but he did. Never Tried that but I wouldn't try you're feet unless absolutely necessary.
